Sunshine | Cane Corso | Santa Clarita, CA | In-Training

Sunshine, a one year old Cane Corso, is back with OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train Program. She previously went through our Three Week program, but was cut short due to her starting her heat cycle. Over the week Sunshine will be working on her on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Pupdate 10/5/2022

Sunshine has settled in well at my home. She is happy to see her old friends again, as well as some new. I took Sunshine to the park to work and see where she is at with her obedience. She does remember her commands. We just need to work on her focus and holding her commands.

Pupdate 10/6/2022

Today Sunshine and I went to the park to work on her obedience commands. We worked on her duration and distance. She did very well. I was able to drop the leash while we practiced.

Pupdate 10/7/2022

Today Sunshine and I went to The Citadel Outlet to work on her commands around distractions. She was a little distracted in the beginning, but as we walked around she relaxed and became more focused. I was able work her without having to hold the leash. Sunshine had a lot of admirers who watch her train. She received a few compliments on how well behaved she is.

Pupdate 10/8/2022

Today Sunshine and I went to the park to work on her obedience commands. She did all her commands practically off leash. I didn’t have to hold the leash once while we trained. She off leash heeled around people, ducks, and dogs perfectly. The only thing she was unsure of was a someone pulling their child in wagon. Sunshine didn’t like the wagon so she move the other side of me so she didn’t have to walk by it. Sunshine I’d doing an awesome job!

Today Sunshine and I went to a local shopping center to work on her off leash obedience. She worked completely off leash today. She did awesome! She was focused and obedient.

Pupdate 10/10/2022

Today Sunshine and I went to the park to work on her off leash obedience. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Sunshine had plenty of dog distractions to practice around. She took her Canine Good Citizen test and passed! We also practiced a new command, Under. She caught on very quickly to this command. Sunshine did a great job today!

Pupdate 10/11/2022

Today Sunshine and I went to The Block at Orange to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She did a great job! She was focused and obedient, even with another dog barking and lunging at her.

Last night I noticed she was scratching a lot. I took a look at her tummy and noticed it was red and irritated. I think the grass at the park irritated her skin. I applied ointment to soothe the irritation and itchiness, which helped a lot. I gave her a bath first thing this morning and I have been applying Aloe Vera and ointment throughout the day.

I am so proud of Sunshine and the progress she has made over the week. She can’t wait to go home tomorrow and show you everything she has learned!
