Apollo | German Shepherd | Los Angeles, CA | In-Training
Updated: 2 hours ago

Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 3-month-old German Shepherd from Los Angeles, California, with lots of puppy energy and some very sharp little teeth! He is joining us for our 3 Week Puppy Board & Train Program.
Apollo is an adorable, sweet, and curious little pup who is eager to explore everything around him. He comes to us with very minimal knowledge of basic obedience, typical puppy play-biting, and plenty of high-energy puppy behavior.
Over the next 21 days, we’ll be focusing on building a strong foundation of obedience, structure, confidence, and good manners through consistent training, clear communication, and plenty of real-world exposure.
During his training, Apollo will be working on:
• Sit and Extended Sit
• Down and Extended Down
• Place and Extended Place
• Heel and proper leash walking
• Recall — “Come”
• Come-to-Sit
• Door manners
• Food manners
• Car manners
• Greeting manners
• Crate training
• Potty routine and structure
• Reducing puppy play-biting and unwanted jumping
• Impulse control and patience
• Building confidence in new environments
• Socialization around people and other dogs
• Exposure to different sights, sounds, surfaces, and distractions
• Learning how to remain calm and focused in public settings
Throughout his program, Apollo will also visit different environments so he can practice his obedience around real-life distractions and learn that his commands apply no matter where he is.
We can’t wait to watch this little guy grow, mature, and develop into a confident, well-mannered companion. Stay tuned for Apollo’s 21-day transformation!

Welcome to Apollo’s very first PUPDATE!
After pickup, Apollo and I spent a little time at the park getting to know each other and beginning the bonding process before heading home. We kept our park visit short because of the heat, but it gave him a chance to explore, decompress, and start getting comfortable with me.
During the ride home, Apollo did very well in the crate. He gave a few small whimpers at first, which is completely normal in a new environment, but he settled down quickly and handled the ride like a champ.
Once we arrived home, Apollo was introduced to my family, my dog Dottie, and Xochi, another pup currently in training. He warmed up to everyone right away and was excited to play and interact. We also went on a short pack walk to help him begin understanding that, for the next few weeks, he will be part of our household and routine.
For Day 1, I like to keep training light. My main focus is helping Apollo acclimate to his new environment, establish trust, and begin building a strong bond with me. Creating that comfort and connection first will make the training process much smoother as we move forward.
Potty training also started the moment we arrived home. Apollo has been given a designated potty area, and we will consistently bring him to the same spot to help him understand where he is expected to go. Structure, repetition, and consistency will be especially important at his young age.
So far, Apollo is settling in very well, and I am excited to see what this sweet little guy can accomplish over the next 21 days.
Let the training journey begin!
