Meet Red, a 6 month old Doberman Pincher from Santa Monica, CA! She will be joining Offleash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train Program! Red is a typical energetic, playful, goofy puppy who is full of energy! She loves to pull her owners around during their walks, which makes walking her difficult. Red has a friendly personality but sometimes gets carried away and jumps on people when saying hello! During her training, Red will be learning Leash Manners, Basic Obedience, Greeting Manners and not picking things up off the ground! Stay tuned for her pupdates!

This afternoon, Red and I went on a couple walks around the neighborhood to let Red recompress and adjust to her new surroundings! She did very well and was super curious about the new smells and sights! We spent about an hour or so at the park because I wanted Red to get acclimated to me being around her. She warmed up pretty quickly and even enjoyed a body rub! When we got home she did bark quite a bit when I put her away for an hour while I worked with another pup. She settled down after about 10 minutes and fell asleep! So far very good first day and we will be starting her training tomorrow!

Today Red and I started our first day of training with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, and Come! She did VERY well and was super focused during our session! Later we met up with other trainers at a large park! Since Red caught on to her first three commands, I decided to have a couple trainers work with her so she starts to learn that she has to listen to whomever is holding the leash! She was very well behaved during our training session! Very proud of her first training day!

Today Red and I started the day with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, and Come. She is a VERY smart girl and loves to learn new things. Redās Heel has gotten very sharp and she stays on my leg majority of the time! Since Red is still a puppy, itās so important to give her those moments during training to just goof off and play around. Sometimes when we are in a heel, she will get sidetracked and start to play. Right now I allow her to have those moments because I want her to enjoy herself and enjoy working. Later we went to Petco and worked on her commands around other dogs. She was very focused and responded to her commands! I am VERY happy with her progress so far and how quickly she is learning!

Later we went to Brea Mall and focused on her duration down and sit! During our training session, Red was full of energy and stayed very focused! After our training at the Mall, Red and I worked on some Door Manners at home. Red gets very excited when she knows a walk is about to happen! Today Red and I started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! She was very energetic and super focused! Her Heel was very tight and right by my leg! Her Down is very fast but sometimes when I tell her āDownā she gets into a playful mode and hops around. To make sure she doesnāt do that, I use a very calm voice and ask firmly! Later we went to a tennis court/park and worked on Heel, Down, Come, and Place! She was very well behaved and super focused! I am very happy with her progress and how far she has come so far!

Today Red and I started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! She was very well behaved and followed each commands nicely! Red sometimes gets super excited when working and will start to become mouthy. When this starts happening I say āoffā firmly and she tends to relax again! Later we went to Santa Monica Pier and focused on Place, Down, Heel, and Sit! For the most part, Red did very well with her commands! When we worked on Place, Red had a hard time getting up on the object. I donāt think she is very aware of her jumping strength and isnāt quite confident yet! This will get better as she gets older and stronger!

Today Red and I started the morning with an early structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Come, Heel, Down, and Sit! Red had a lot of energy during our session and would sometimes get mouthy when she got physically praised. I decided to tone down the physical praise and just give her verbal āgood girl!ā This definitely helped with her mouthiness and helped keep her more calm! Later we worked on Door Manners because she gets very excited when going outside. She did very well and waited at the door while I walked in and out! We also took a trip to the park and focused on her commands around higher distractions! Very good work today!

Today Red and I started the morning with our usual routine and took a structured walk around the neighborhood to work on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! She did pretty well with all of her commands and was very playful! Her Heel has gotten super tight and she tends to keep her head on your leg! Red has also gotten a lot more comfortable jumping up on place and will sit quickly! Since the temperatures got pretty hot after our session, I decided to let her relax while we waited out the heat! After a couple hours, we went to a park near by and worked on a longline with some of her commands! She did amazing and was very attentive and very quick to respond! I am very happy with her progress and how quickly she is learning!

Today Red and I started the morning with an early structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on offleash Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! She was such a good girl and very focused! Her Come is very sharp but sometimes if you have your legs separated she will go through them to perform her command. Best way to avoid that is just to keep your legs together so she doesnāt get confused! Later we went to a park to focus primarily on her commands offleash! I did begin with the leash dragging but quickly transitioned to offleash! She did amazing and was very quick with her commands!

Today Red and I started the morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on her commands offleash! She was very energetic and super excited to work! We worked on her Come, Down, Heel, and Sit. Due to her high strung energy she sometimes would get too excited when doing her Come and run past me. To prevent that from happening, I used a calmer voice and prematurely said Sit. This helped her slow down and be in the correct position! Later we met up with other trainers at a park and continued working offleash! She was very well behaved and only had 2 mistakes with her Down command and her Sit. Overall she was really awesome today!

Today Red and I started the morning with our routine walk offleash around the neighborhood and worked fine tuning her commands! She over all did fantastic and was very sharp with her commands! Her heel is extremely tight and right on my leg! She really enjoys staying right by me and doesnāt try and walk away from you while in her heel! Later we went to Northridge Mall and again focused on all of her commands on and offleash! She even stayed in a down while I went into Starbucks to order a drink! Afterwards we continued working on Heel, Down, Come, Place, and Sit! She has come so far and is such a smart girl who loves to work!

Today Red and I started the morning with a structured offleash walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Down, Come, Sit, and Place! She was very well behaved and super excited to work! Later we went to an outdoor mall and continued working on her Heel, Come, Sit, and Down! We kept the session short due to the high heat. Once we got home I let Red relax outside of the crate for about an hour or so. She ended up falling asleep in the kitchen for most of that time! Overall I am very proud of Redās progress!

Today Red and I started with our usual structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on all of her commands! She did very well and had no noticeable issues with performing each one! She does sometimes get excited when she knows that she did well but that is due to her puppy energy and personality! In those situations itās super important to keep a relaxed voice tone and not be overly energetic because she will feed off of that. Later we went to a park just to relax and decompress for about an hour. Once it got too hot, Red and I went to an indoor mall and continued working on her commands! Iām very proud of how far she has come and she canāt wait to show her new skills off!
