Today, we covered all the essential commands at an indoor mall, including off-leash heeling and holding commands for two minutes. He's making good progress but occasionally needs a reminder not to walk ahead. It's clear he had a great time, and we used play as a reward for Murphy. We also focused on improving his greeting manners. At home, we continued working on his indoor manners, and he had a relaxing time resting on his cot. Stay tuned for more!

Today, we brought Murphy to Santa Monica Pier, where we focused on reinforcing all of his commands. Our goal was to demonstrate the impressive set of skills he's learned during his time with me. I can confidently say that he performed exceptionally well today, and I'm incredibly proud of his progress.

However, it's important to note that Murphy takes some time to adapt to new environments. He requires a period to relax and process the various stimuli in his surroundings. This is typical for a puppy, and we fully expect this behavior. Nevertheless, it's essential to establish a consistent routine of initial training, repetition, and accountability to help Murphy thrive in his new environment. This process will be ongoing as he matures, gradually building a solid understanding and adherence to the rules and expectations.

It's crucial to emphasize that training is a continuous journey. Even when Murphy returns home, he should continue to face new challenges and receive regular reminders to ensure his growth and success as he matures into the well-behaved adult dog I believe he will become.

Today, we brought Murphy to the mall for a brief stroll around the area. We wanted to reassess his heeling abilities to determine if he's more comfortable heeling in a familiar environment compared to an unfamiliar one, like yesterday at the pier. It appears that in a calm environment, he does exceptionally well. However, in areas with many dogs and grass, he tends to pull forward, which I consistently correct. Given that he's a puppy, this behavior is expected. Nonetheless, it's crucial to consistently correct and reinforce positive behavior. Afterward, we took him home and spent the next two minutes working on all his cues, and he performed remarkably well.

On Murphy's final day in my care, I aimed to cherish the love and accomplishments we shared during our time together. Following a brief training session emphasizing his manners, I dedicated the morning to indulging in activities he adores - from walks, playful moments, belly rubs, and treats, to simply hanging out together. I spent time reading while he relaxed in his cot, enjoying head scratches.

The last day always holds a special significance, marking the transformation before he ventures into the world, ready to embrace new experiences. Being a part of Murphy's journey, aiding in his growth, fills my heart with joy. Our unique bond will forever remain etched in my heart, holding a special place.

So dear Murphy, thank you for an incredible two weeks!

With lots of love,
