Indy | Miniature Australian Labradoodle | Pasadena, CA | In-Training

Writer: Amanda LascariAmanda Lascari

Indy, a Miniature Australian Labradoodle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Indy comes to us with lack of following commands when distracted, not properly walking on leash, jumping for attention, and excessive barking. Over the week Indy will be working on his on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Indy has settled in well at my home.

He is having a blast with his new friends. He has been running around and playing since he’s gotten here.

Today Indy and I went to the park to start working on his obedience commands. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place and Heel. Place is a command where Indy must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching him to be calm and relaxed. Heel is still a work in progress, but Indy is walking a lot better now.

Today Indy and I met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs at the park. Indy practiced his commands around all the dog distractions. He learned three new commands today: Come to Sit, Come to Heel, and Down. He caught on to the new commands pretty fast.

Today Indy and I went to the Block at Orange to work on his obedience around distractions. He did very well with all the people around us. He was focused and obedient.

Indy took the day off of training and got to spend his last day playing and socializing with his friends before he leaves. Indy helped welcome in two new trainees to the pack. He can’t wait to go home and show you everything he has learned!
