Goldendoodle Dog Training | Finn | Mission Viejo, CA

Finn, a Goldendoodle from Mission Viejo, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal Board & Train dog training program. Finn was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, CA.

Finn, a 5 year old Goldendoodle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our two week board and train program. Finn is a sweet boy who loves to play fetch! Some of the issues Finn’s owner is having with him is: lack of following commands. running out the door, leash pulling and reactivity. Over the next two weeks Finn will be working on his off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Today I introduced and conditioned Finn to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit and Place. Place is a comma where Finn must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching Finn to be relaxed and calm. He is having a great time with his new doggie friends!

Today Finn and I worked on his commands around the neighborhood. We started practicing the heel command. It’s still a work in progress, but he is walking a lot better now. He walks right by my side. If he tried to pull away from me, I would give him a correction and Finn would come right back to my side.

Today Finn and I stayed home and practiced all his commands: come to sit, place, heel, and down. He did very well, even with his friends trying to distract him. If there is a ball, nothing can distract him. I have been using that to my advantage, he more willing to work and follow commands when I reward him with his ball/toy.

Today Finn and his friend, Ruby, joined me on a shopping spree at the Block At Orange. It was very busy and Finn got to practice his commands with all the people and distractions around us. He did very well! We were able to walk past other dogs without breaking command or wanting to go say hi. He was able to sit and stay put while I walked away and crowds of people moved around him.

Finn is getting closer to being fully off leash! Today we went to the park to practice his commands. I was able to drop the leash and Finn followed all the commands I asked of him. He is doing such a great job.

Today Finn, Ruby, and I spent the day out in Los Angeles to work on commands. First we went to Blue Collar Working Dog pet store where Finn got to train on some of the equipment. After we went to a park to work on his off leash commands. He did awesome! Someone came up to us and complimented Finn on how well behaved he was.
