Tucker, an eight month old Labradoodle, joined OffLeash SoCal for our two week board and train program. Tucker comes to us with typical puppy behavior: jumping to greet, lacks following commands when distracted, pulls on the leash when walking, counter surfing, and play biting. Over the next two weeks Tucker will be working on his off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Tucker has made himself right at home. He is doing very well with my pack of dogs. He is being very friendly and social with all his new doggie friends.

Today Tucker and I went to the park to start his first day of training. I introduced and conditioned Tucker to the ecollar. We practiced command: Dow, Sit, and Place. Place is a command where Tucker must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching him to be calm and relaxed.

Today Tucker and I worked on his obedience at home. We worked on Come to Sit, Down, and Place. He is a smart boy and fast learner. We will be working more on his duration, staying focused and holding the commands longer.

Today Tucker and I went to the park to work on his commands. We worked on a new command, Heel. It is still a work in progress, but he is walking much better now. Tucker stays at my side and isn’t pulling me around as much. A few times he would stop or wander a little to far away, but once I gave him a reminder he would catch back up to me.

Today Tucker and his buddy, Jetson, went to Lowes to practice their commands out of the rain. Tucker was distracted at first, but as we walked around and worked on his commands he relaxed and started to focus.

Today Tucker and I went to The Grove to work on his obedience. He did very well with all the distractions around us. He was a little distracted at first but he was still able to focus and follow his commands. Tucker did not enjoy the ride there and home. He still gets car sick.

Today Tucker and I went to the park to work on his commands. We started working semi-off leash. I let him drag the leash while followed his commands. Tucker did a pretty good job! He’s almost ready to be fully off leash!

Today Tucker and I stayed home for training. We worked on all of his off leash obedience. I used his friends as distractions while we practiced commands. It was a little hard for him at first because Tucker just wanted to join in on their fun. We worked through the distraction and Tucker started focusing and obeying commands. After training he was rewarded playtime with his buddies.

Today I took Tucker to The Block at Orange to work on his off leash obedience around distractions. He did an awesome job! He was very well mannered and followed all his commands.

Today Tucker and I worked on his training indoors to stay out of the stormy weather. Tucker and his buddies worked on their place commands while watching me wrap gifts. They didn’t let the rain stop them from having a good time. I think that was the best part of their day and my worst part of the day, having to blow dry the three of them when they were done.

Today Tucker and I went down to Huntington Beach to work on his off leash obedience. He did a great job around all the people, dog, and bike distractions. We are still struggling with the motion sickness on car rides.

Today Tucker and I went to Hollywood and worked on his commands on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He did a great job with all the commotion going on around us. The only thing he was afraid of was someone playing the drums.

Today Tucker and I went to the Block at Orange to work on his off leash obedience. He did very well around the crowds of people. I took Tucker to the groomers. He can’t wait to go home and show you everything he has learned!
