Tempe, a Golden Retriever, from, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal 2 Week Board & Train Program. Tempe was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra, CA

Tempe, a 1 year old Golden Retriever, has joined Offleash SoCal for our two week board and train program. Tempe is a sweet and energetic girl who love every human and dog she meets. She is easily distracted, especially when she sees another dog she wants to play with, and will lunge and bark to try and greet them. Over the 2 weeks Tempe will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Today Tempe was introduced and conditioned to the ecollar. We practiced the command come to sit. She is having a great time with all of her new Doggie friends.

Today Tempe and I worked some more on Come to Sit. She learned a new command, Place. Place is a command where she has to sit or lay on an object and not get off. This command is great for confidence building, when trying new and more difficult objects, as well as a calming command where she just has to stay put and relax.

Today Tempe and I went to a local school playground to work on commands. We worked on come to sit, duration sit, and place. Tempe tried place on a new object, the picnic table. We also started working on her loose leash heel. Still a work in progress, but she is doing a lot better with not pulling.

Today Tempe and her buddy, Link, went to the park to work on commands. They practiced sit, come, place, and heel. Today is the first day of Tempe starting to be off leash. We practiced the heel command and Tempe stayed right at my side while I let go of the leash and let her drag it. She is doing such a great job with her training! Still working on the jumping. She’s getting a little better, she jumps when a new person excitedly comes up to greet her, but once I correct her she sits back down and calmly waits while they pet her.

My apologies for the late posts. I was having an issue uploading to the app. Tempe loved rolling around and jumping through the tall grass. Today I took Tempe back to the elementary school to continue her off leash obedience.
