Meet Forrest! She is an eight month old Belgian Malinois who has joined us for our Two Week Board and Train Program. Forrest is here for basic obedience, and excessive reactive barking at any dog that is nearby or walks by. Forrest knows some basic commands sit and down without distractions, but over the next fourteen days, this cute pup will be set up for success, with the hopes of becoming a well mannered pup. Check in to see her progress!

Forrest is a shy, sweet girl. I gave her the opportunity to sniff the place out when she arrived and meet a few of the dogs. They really helped her relax and settle in. We worked loose leash walking while introducing her to the remote collar. She has been alert to neighbors and other dogs but no barking so far. I will expose her to more environments that might trigger her and work her through it. I've been cleaning the light discharge out of her eye as well.

Forrest worked walking in the heel positions on a loose leash with distractions (barking dog behind a gate) and Come to Sit along with extended down. She was distracted by the barking dog but she didn't bark back. We will continue to work on her reactivity in different environments.

Forrest has opened up and feels more comfortable with everyone. She worked place in addition to different types of place more today. We added some distance and less help with Come to Sit.

Forrest is doing amazing. We worked her long leash commands at her park visit. She's slow on her down so we are working on that. She struggled with placing on new objects but her confidence grew quickly and she doing well.

Forrest took a field trip to Home Depot and we checked to see how she did with loud noises, and carts etc. She did great :-) She doesn't stay close on the heel command and we continue to work on that.

Forrest worked at an outdoor mall with lots of distractions. We worked her heel, come to sit, and extended commands. We will be transitioning her to off leash and working her commands off leash.

Forrest worked off leash Heel. This morning her eye mucous was green. I will continue to keep you updated. She hasn't had any barking reactivity towards other dogs.

Forrest is building on her place variations - she did an awesome job in her extended down when people and dogs were respectful. A lady let her puppy come right up to Forrest (which I knew and was testing her) and it was too distracting for Forrest. She returned to her down quickly though. Her eyes looked clear.

Forrest worked Door Manners. She's doing well and she only had a little eye booger today. She has lots of fun playing.

Forrests' heel has improved, but she's hesitant to use her back legs for place. We continue to practice place and reinforce her extended commands as well. Her eyes had some discharge but wasn't green.

Forrest worked at the beach today. She saw a lot of untrained dogs who were pulling to get to her and she stayed calm in her sit. She worked place and walked through crowds with no issues.
