Today Coco and I worked on engagement and a bit of luring, along with some leash pressure for the sit command. Coco is a very smart pup that loves to play! Coco was able to pick up the "sit" command pretty quickly for leash pressure. First I lured her in the sit command a couple times, then once I saw she was picking up the luring pretty fast. Then I moved onto leash pressure, using upward leash pressure along with the sit command, just to test her out and see how she responds to pressure, which she did great. After our session, I brought my pup Kisa out to play with coco to get some energy out.

Today Coco and I went to meet up with the offleash team at a local Home Depot in Alhambra Ca, to get some training and socialization in! Today I Ā introduced heel, sit, down with the prong collar to Coco teaching her leash pressure for those commands and she did an awesome job! Tomorrow Coco and I will be working on an introduction to the ecollar tool, she had it on today just to get used to the feeling of having it on her neck.Ā

Today Coco and I had one of our session on my driveway, we utilized the noises from the cars and people walking past on the sideway as distractions. Today I introduced the āplaceā command to Coco and she did a great job! Place is a command to have her get on any platform and to either sit or down. Coco also needed to be desensitized to the box, at first when she first saw the place box she was hesitant about getting near it. After a couple luring repetitions on and off the box, she was quickly desensitized to the object. Today we also started our introduction to the ecollar tool! Noting crazy, I started by letting Coco get distracted by different things on the ground, then I would tap the ecollar tool and say the ācomeā command. At first, she didnāt know the feeling so I had to use the leash to help guide her my way, as soon as she got to me she was rewarded with lots of pets! Overall Coco did a awesome job today and picked up the place command very quickly.

Today as soon as the rain stopped Coco and I went to my local park in San Dimas Ca, to get some training in! Today we focused on pairing the ecollar stimulation to leash pressure with the āheelā āsitā and ādownā commands. Coco did an awesome job of picking up what the ecollar stimulation meant, during the beginning, I had to use more leash pressure to help guide Coco to the desired position such as sit and down, after multiple repetitions of the same picture, she was able to perform some of the commands without any leash pressure and just ecollar stimulation! The ecollar stimulation is designed to be a tap on the shoulder to help communicate with Coco. However, that tap on the shoulder does get more and more intense depending on if Coco decides to respond to our command or just ignore us and blow us off.Ā

Today Coco and I went back to the same park in San Dimas Ca, for our afternoon session. We focused on leash dragging heel, along with holding positions such as sit and down. Coco has an understanding of the ecollar tool, but at times still needs help from the leash. We also introduced a new command to Coco! We started working on the ācomeā command, the ācomeā command helps a lot with recalls.Ā Every time I give Coco the ācomeā command, sheās supposed to run to me and loop around my right side to my left heel side and sit. Coco is doing a great job at picking up the ācomeā command. Tomorrow I will demonstrate all of the commands on video.Ā

Today Coco and I worked on all of our commands at the park with only the leash dragging. I communicated with Coco by saying the command along with tapping the stimulation button from the ecollar to help guild her. Overall Coco did a great job except for one thing, she at times has trouble holding her positions. Over the next week, we will be adding more and more distractions to our training.

Today Coco and I went to the local Home Depot in San Dimas Ca, to get some training in alongside distraction from the shoppers around. Today we focused on working with just the leash dragging around distractions, using just the ecollar stimulation to reinforce behaviors. At times I did have to use to leash just to help Coco out, eventually, the 3ft leash was just dragging on the ground. We also focused on holding positions around people pushing carts passing by, which she did great on! Overall Coco did an amazing job working today!

Today Coco and I worked in the neighborhood park by my house as well as in my house to get some more training alongside other pups! Today we focused on impulse control around other dogs, at first whenever she would see another dog she would think it was play time. Coco and I are learning to hold out composure around other pups no matter how distracting it may be. Coco is doing a great job, we are just about fully off leash. We will continue to add more and more distractions to our training.

Today Coco and I met up with some of the Off Leash members at a local park in Glendale Ca, to get some training alongside each other and the pups! Today I wanted to show how Coco does around other dogs and trainers, for the first couple of minutes during our session Coco may need to be warmed up using the ecollar tool. Before asking Coco for other commands, I started by doing the āheelā command a couple of times. After a couple of reps of the āheelā command, Coco was able to understand the ecollar stimulation more and more, whenever Coco shakes her head, it's a sign of her trying to avoid the ecollar stimulation. Even though Coco is still getting used to the ecollar stimulation, she is still doing an awesome job!

Today Coco and I went to Home Depot along with a session at the park as well! Today we focused on the āplaceā command mostly, along with proofing the rest of our behaviors in different environments. Coco is a young pup still that gets distracted very easily, during our training sessions we focused on holding positions around strangers walking around. At first, she would break her positions every time someone would walk by, therefore I showed Coco the same picture over and over again. By the end of the session, she was able to hold her position around strangers for longer than 4 minutes.

Today Coco and I worked on her in home food manners, along with a field trip to the Montebello mall for some more training! The first part of the video is Coco working on her food manners, having her hold the āplaceā command patiently as I place the bowl down on the ground and have her wait for my ābreakā for her to be able to eat. Later on that day, we went to the Montebello mall to proof her commands in a more distracting environment, during our session Coco was fully off leash and did a great job holding the āplaceā command in a different setting for over 3 minutes!Ā

Today Coco and I focused on her kennel manners in the house as well as proofing all of her other obedience commands. Whenever I have her go into the kennel or exit, I always have her sit and wait before entering as well as wait in the kennel when the door just opens and wait for my next command and not just bolt out every time the door opens. Structure and consistency are key for Coco it is going to set her up in the future. Coco is doing a great job, the next few days Coco and I will be prepping along with proofing her training more to get her set up and ready to go on Sunday morning!Ā

Overall Coco did great learning these past two weeks and is ready to go home tomorrow!
