Bo | Labrador Retriever | Upland, CA | In-Training

Bo, a seven month old Labrador Retriever, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train Program. Bo comes to us with typical puppy behavior: little knowledge of commands, leash pulling, jumping to greet, play biting, being easily distracted, and chewing things he's not supposed to. Over the week Bo will be working on his on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Bo has settled in well at my home. He is having a blast with all his new doggie friends. He has been running around and playing nonstop since he's been here.

Today Bo and I went to the park to train. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. We practiced commands Place and Come to Sit. He is a smart boy and caught on to his commands quickly. Bo had a great first day of training!

Today Bo and I worked on his obedience at home. We worked more on his Come to Sit and Place commands. We practiced two new commands: Down and Heel. Down was a little bit of a struggle. Bo isn’t a big fan of being told to lay down. Heel is still a work in progress, but he is walking better at my side now.

Today Bo and I went to work on his obedience around distractions and out of the rain. He did pretty well. He was a little excited and distracted when we first got there, but as we walked around and worked on his commands,

Bo was able to settle down and focus. We started practicing a new command, Come to Heel, where Bo comes to my left side and sits in the heel position. Bo is still trying to get the hang of it, this command can be a little tricky.

Today Bo and his buddy, Tuque, joined me on a shopping spree at The Citadel Outlet. Bo practiced his commands around high distractions. He did a great job! He was focused and obedient.

Today Bo and I went back to The Citadel Outlet to work on his obedience around distractions. Once again, he did very well. He followed all his commands, even with other dogs barking and lunging at him. He had a few admirers today that stopped to watch him train. They gave him compliments on he good behavior.

Today Bo and his buddies, Zeus and Tuque, wen to the mall to work on their obedience. It was very busy there, so there were a lot of distractions to work around. Bo was a bit distracted in the beginning, but as we walked around and trained he settled down and became more focused.
