Zoey | Dogo Argentino | Long Beach, CA | In-Training

Zoey, a seven month old Dogo Argentino, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Zoey comes to us with typical puppy behavior: lack of following commands, leash pulling, jumping to greet, and being easily distracted. Over the two weeks she will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Zoey has settled in well at my home. She is having a blast with all her new doggie friends. She has been running around and playing nonstop since she has been here.

Today Zoey and I went to the park to work on her commands. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place, and Heel. Place is a command where Zoey must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching her to be calm and relaxed. Heel is still a work in progress, but she was walking much better now.

Today Zoey and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced two new commands: Down and Come. She is doing a great job! She learns very fast, but can definitely be stubborn when she doesnā€˜t to do something.

Today Zoey and I went to the park to work on her commands. She practiced her commands semi-off leash today! I let her drag the leash around while we worked on her commands. We just need to tighten up a few of her commands and soon she will be working completely off leash.

Today Zoey and I worked on her commands around the neighborhood. She is doing very well with her commands without me holding onto the leash. She can be a slow poke and takes her time doing her commands. She is just about ready to start training off leash.

Today Zoey and I worked on her obedience at home. I used her friends as distractions while we practiced. She did very well, even with her buddies trying to come up and play with her. She ignored them and stayed focus. After training I let her join in on the fun with her friends.

Today Zoey and I went to the Block at Orange to work on her off leash obedience. She did a very good job! She had a lot of admirers and received a bunch of compliments on how well behaved she is, and of course, how beautiful she is. Zoey was not too happy with the cold weather. She wanted to be curled up at home in her blanket.

Today Zoey took the day off from training and spent the day socializing and playing with her friends before she leaves tomorrow. I gave her a bath, but didnā€™t stay clean for long. She wrestled around with her friends and got dirty all over again. Zoey canā€™t wait to go home and show you everything she has learned!
