Waverly, a seven month old Goldendoodle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Waverly comes to us with typical puppy behavior: lack of following commands, being easily distracted, jumping to greet, nipping, and not walking properly on leash. Over the two weeks she will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Waverly is settling in well at my home. She got to meet all her new doggie friends. She’s a little shy right now and not interested in playing. Once Waverly fully settles in, she will warm up to them.

Today Waverly and I worked on her training at home. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit and Place. Place is a command where Waverly must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching her to be calm and relaxed. Waverly had a great first day of training!

Today Waverly and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced more of the Place command. We practiced two new commands: Come to Sit and Heel. Heel is still a work in progress, but she is walking much better. Another great day of training!

Today Waverly and I worked on her obedience around the neighborhood. We practiced a new command, Down. She is not a fan of this command and gave me a hard time. It’s okay, we will keep practicing Down until she loves it. She is getting better with the Heel command. Waverly stayed at my side on focused on me and where I was going.

Today Waverly and I stayed home to train. We practiced all her commands. Her friend, Mango, wanted to join in on the training session. Mango was showing Waverly the ropes on how to be off leash obedient.

Today Waverly and I went to Lowes to work on her commands out of the heat. She was very distracted when we first got there, but as we walked around and practiced her commands she was able to settle down and focus. We tried working semi-off leash, but Waverly isn’t quite ready yet. She still tries to wander away from me. Some more practice and we can start practicing semi-off leash again.

Today Waverly and I went to The Citadel Outlet to work on her commands around distractions. She got to work semi-off leash today! I let her drag the leash around while we practiced. We need to tighten up a few of her commands, but she did very well today.

Today Waverly and I went to the park to work on her off leash obedience. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Waverly was able to practice around plenty of dog distractions. She was a bit distracted and being a little stubborn today, but I made sure she followed through with her commands.

Today Waverly and her friend, Mango, joined me on a shopping spree at The Block at Orange. Today Waverly worked completely off leash! She did very well, even with other dogs trying to come up to us. Mango and Waverly got many compliments on how well behaved they are off leash!

Today Waverly and I went to the Citadel to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Waverly had plenty of dog distractions to work around. She did very well today, even with a dog that was lunging and barking at her.

Today Waverly and I went to The Block a Orange to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She did pretty well. There were a lot of people there today, but Waverly stayed focused and obedient. She was a bit distracted by the pigeons.

Today Waverly and her friends, Coyote and Mango, joined me on a shopping spree at The Cerritos Mall. It was very busy today, so Waverly got to practice her off leash obedience around high distractions. Everyone loved Waverly and her friends. She sat politely while kids came up to pet her. She did an awesome job today!

Today Waverly and I went down to Huntington Beach to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She did an awesome job! She was focused and well behaved. When we got home she got a bath to be clean for tomorrow, but it didn’t last that long. Waverly rolled around and played with her friends, getting dirty again. She can’t wait to go home tomorrow and go show you everything she has learned!
