Meet Walter! A 5 month Olde English Bulldog from Studio City California. He is here because he doesn’t know how to walk on leash, he doesn’t know to stay in a command, and also he needs to learn basic obedience. Walter is very playful, smart, and he is super cute. Walter is here for our 3 week Board and Train Program. Stay turned for Walter’s 21 day transformation.

Today Walter and I trained at home. Walter and I just worked on his sit today. Walter was a little stubborn and didn't want to sit without treats so I just wanted to work on this command. Walter is adjusting well to his temporary home. He has been such a good pup and so much fun to train with!

Today Walter and I went to the park! Walter and I worked on his heel, recall, and sit. Walter sometimes did resist wanting to walk but after some time Walter understood what was being asked. We didn’t use any treats today because I wanted Walter to listen to commands with no treats. Walter did get a little distracted out in public but overall he did great. Walter has been such a good pup!

Today Walter and I went to the park! Walter and I worked on his heel, recall, and I introduced down to him. Walter is improving each day we train. He is understanding what is being asked of him. I made sure to work Walter in the shade today and for short periods of time since it was hot. Walter has been such a good pup!

Today Walter and I went to Santa Monica Pier. Walter and I worked on his heel, recall, and down. Walter was a little stubborn with going in a down but he was able to complete the command. Walters wrinkles under his eye did look a little irritated so what I am doing is cleaning it twice a day so they get better. With these types of dogs you need to clean between there wrinkles so it doesn’t cause any irritation. Walter has been such a good pup and he is improving each day we train!

Today Walter and I worked at home. I really wanted to focus on Walters commands with no distractions. Walter is very stubborn which is why I wanted to work where I could have his attention 100%. Walter and I worked on his recall, heel, and down. We will continue to work on all of his commands. Walter is improving each day we train!

Pupdate 3/28/2022
Walter and I spent the day getting to know each other. We worked on all of the commands he already knew such as ‘heel’ and ‘come to sit’. We went for a couple of walks around the neighborhood so he could get used to being with me. We spent some time lounging in my living room watching tv while he got lots of rubs and cuddles. Walter is such a good boy and adjusted nicely to his new environment. We ended the day by working on his ‘down’ command. He doesn’t need as much leash tension and is able to hold his down a lot longer! Walter is such a good boy.
Pupdate 3/29/2022
Walter did a great job today at Petsmart. He is still very timid with a lot of noise and at times will get up. We worked on his ‘extended down’ with distraction and he would get up if he was unsure. We would reset and he would do great. In the video, he would get a bit spooked by some of the noises I made so he would get up. We worked through it and eventually he was more comfortable with staying in a down. Overall, Walter is doing an amazing job and is improving every day. He ate all of his food today.

Walter went to Cheviot Hills Park to work on all of his commands! He is a lot better at his ‘down’ and doesn’t need any leash pressure to go down. He does get a bit distracted by walking past other dogs and people so we’re working on him staying focused. Walter has been eating all of his food and is being such a good boy. He enjoyed some playtime before bed.

Walter went to Wilderness Park today to work on all of his commands. He is doing great with his ‘heel’ and his ‘come to sit’ but still struggles with his ‘place’. He doesn’t jump up very high so it’s a little hard to jump up on higher surfaces. We also introduced ‘under’ today. At first he was getting the hang of it but then he got a bit stubborn and didn’t want to go under anymore. Overall, Walter is doing a great job and is being a good boy. He has been eating all of his breakfast and dinner!

Walter went to The Block at Orange where he was able to work on all of his commands. He did such a great job but was a bit distracted by all of the pups that were there. He is getting a lot better at his ‘heel’ and ‘extended down and sits’ but still struggles with his ‘place’. He doesn’t want to jump up on higher surfaces and will at times just stop before getting to a place. He is doing a lot better at working around a lot of people but will still get a bit timid if he sees skateboards. Overall, he is being a good boy.

Walter went to Santa Monica to work on all of his commands! He did really well with his ‘under’ command and was able to place on a small bench! He is getting a lot better at ignoring distractions but still tends to veer off a bit when ‘heeling’. We spent the rest of the day working on his commands in my home. He is getting better at his ‘food’ and ‘door’ manners but will get a bit too excited when he see’s his food. He tends to get up a couple of times but we just reset and try again. Overall, Walter is being such a good boy and is learning so much!

Walter and I worked on all of his commands off leash today! He did really great and is doing better about loud noises. He still gets a bit timid when other dogs bark at him or around him. He tends to walk a little faster but he did great keeping my pace today. He is doing a lot better with his ‘under’ command but still needs a little help to get him to go under something all the way. He is doing really well! He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and had some of his banana and apple treats. He enjoyed some off leash play time today as well.

Walter and I worked off leash at a local park! He is doing really well with ‘under’ but still struggles a bit when going on ‘place’. We also worked on going up and down stairs today. He was a little hesitant but did a lot better once we did it a couple of times. Walter is getting a lot more comfortable being off leash and is listening really well. He enjoyed some free time playing in the grass. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Walter and I worked on all of his commands off leash at a local park. He was able to have some off leash fun with his best friend, Mia, my personal dog. We worked on switching him off from play to going back into a ‘heel’. He did really great working on all of his commands and is doing so much better with his ‘under’. He is also ignoring passing dogs and people, he doesn’t want to get up and say hello to them as much. He is still struggling jumping up on high places but once he gets up there he does great staying in a ‘sit’. Walter ate all of his breakfast and dinner. He is such a sweet boy!

Walter and I worked on all of his commands today off leash at Home Depot! Since it was a bit hot we spent the rest of the day training at home! We worked on his ‘door’ and ‘food manners’. He struggled a bit with the ‘food manners’ and would try to get up and eat his food. After a couple of tries he was more patient. He did great with his ‘door manners’ and is being such a good boy! He ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Walter worked on all of his commands off leash today! He did a great job staying focused around other pups and bikes that we’re passing. He is getting a lot better with his ‘under’! He is such a sweet boy! He finished all of his breakfast and dinner. He spent the rest of the day training in my home since it was really hot today.

Walter and I worked in my home today since it was pretty hot out. We worked on his manners at home as well as ‘place’! We did take a couple of short walks throughout the day and he did amazing! He is getting a lot better at his ‘under’ and is gaining a lot more confidence when going up on things. He was able to lounge with me in my home as well as play with his best friend, Mia. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Walter worked on all of his commands off leash at Santa Monica Pier. He was a little spooked at first around all of the bikes and strollers but did a great job focusing. He worked on his ‘greeting manners’ and was amazing. He is getting a lot better with his ‘under’ and his ‘heel’. Overall, Walter did a stellar job today and he can’t wait to show you all that he has learned. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and drank plenty of water.

Walter worked on all of his commands at a local park today! He did such a great job ignoring other people and dogs. He was able to run around and working on his ‘place’ command today. He is being such a good boy and we can’t wait to show you all that he’s learned. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and enjoyed some of his treats.
