Toast | Maltipoo | Long Beach, CA | In-Training

Toast, an eight month old Maltipoo, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Toast comes to us with with typical puppy behaviors: being easily excitable and distracted, having little knowledge of commands, play biting, not walking properly on leash, and separation anxiety from his owner. Over the week Toast will be working on his on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Toast is settling in well at my home. He is getting acquainted with all my dogs. He was a little shy when first meeting them, but has warmed up and is playing with them now.

Today Toast and I went to the park to work on his commands. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Down, Place, and Heel. He did a great job and caught on to his commands quickly. We are working on his separation anxiety, but is a bit of a struggle.

Today Toast and I went back to the park to work on his commands. We practiced more of Sit, Down, Heel, and Place. We practiced a new command: Come to Sit. This command is a bit tricky, but Toast is starting to get the hang of it. He was a bit stubborn with Down today.

Today Toast and I went to Lowe's to work on his obedience around distractions. He was a bit distracted when we first arrived, but as we walked around and trained, he settled down and focused on his commands. When we got home, Toast was happy to go into his kennel and rest. There was no fuss being separated from me.

Today Toast joined me on a shopping spree at The Citadel Outlets. He practiced his commands around high distractions. He was a little distracted with all the commotion going on around us, but as we walked around he became more focused. He did very well. We worked on his distance and duration.

Today Toast and and his buddy, Ranger, went to the park to work on their obedience. I used his friend as a distraction while Toast and I trained. He did very well. He stayed focused and followed all his commands, even though he really wanted to play with Ranger. Toast did a great job today!

Today Toast and I went to The Block at Orange to work on his obedience around distractions. He did a great job! He was focused and obedient. When we got home I gave him a bath so he can be nice and clean when he sees you. Toast can't wait to go home and show you everything he has learned!
