Tina, a two year old Boxer/Cattle Dog Mix, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Tina comes to us with lack of following commands, being easily distracted, jumping to greet, and excessive barking. Over the next week Tina will be working on her on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Tina has settled in well at my home. She was a little nervous around the other dogs when she arrived, but now she is getting along and playing well with them.

Today Tina and I went to the park to start her first day of training. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. One of our new trainers assisted me today and got to work with Tina. We practiced commands Sit, Down, Place, and Heel. Place is a command where Tina must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching her to be calm and relaxed. Heel is still a work in progress but she is walking much better now.

Today Tina and I went back to the park to work on her obedience commands. We worked on two new commands: Come to Sit and Come to Heel. We are still working on her jumping, though she is getting a little bit better at resisting the urge to. We worked on her duration, holding her commands longer.

Today Tina and her friends, Sunshine and Obi, joined me on a shopping spree at The Block at Orange. Tina worked on her obedience around higher distractions. She did very well! Tina was focused and obedient.

Today Tina and I went to Glendale Galleria to work on her obedience around more distractions. She is doing very well with her obedience. Someone came up to greet Tina. She didn’t jump; she sat politely while being pet.

Today Tina and I went to the park to work on her commands. At home we practiced her door manners, food manners, and loading up. Tina has done a great job with her training. She can’t wait to go home tomorrow and show you everything she has learned!
