Meet Summit! She is a 3 year old Labrador Pitbull Mix from Long Beach, CA! Shes joining us for our Two Week Board and Train Program! She’s here because she pulls heavily on leash, needs to learn basic obedience and barks at skateboards. She’s a very sweet and smart girl who is ready to learn! Watch out for her 14 day transformation!
Today was Summits first day with me. We had a mini training session after pickup, we introduced the e-collar as well as her heel. She was a little nervous at first and kept trying to pull me. After a bit of bonding time she warmed up to me and relaxed a bit. Summit did bark a couple of times in the kennel when we got home but she calmed down after a couple of minutes. She nibbled at her dinner and went potty outside. I didn’t want to overwhelm her so we kept out training session short. Overall she did a great job for her first day!
Pupdate 12/6/2021
Summit went to Citadel Outlets to work on her heel. She was pulling a lot in the beginning but after getting used to the stim of the e-collar she seemed to understand that was a behavior I didn’t want. She is really anxious and timid so I gave her a couple of minutes to get adjusted to her new surroundings once we got there. She had her tail tucked and was drooling a bit, due to her anxiousness. After a couple of minutes she seemed to calm down. She did really well around other people and dogs. She got a little excited when people would pass by her and talk to her. Durning our training session there was a guy who was skateboarding past us. I was able to catch her before she started to bark. Her ears would perk up and I can hear her growl a bit, I pressed the stim on the e-collar as we passed and she seemed to have an internal battle whether or not she wanted to bark. She didn’t end up barking which was great and she got lots of love for being such a good girl! Overall, summit did a great job!
Pupdate 12/7/2021
Summit went to The Pike to work on her commands around distractions. We met up with another trainer and their pup. Summit did amazing ignoring the other dogs we were working with. She is getting a lot better at her heel and doesn’t try to pull as much. She still tries to walk ahead of me but we’re working on having her keep the same pace as me. She is doing great with her down and her extended sits. She does try to get up a bit sometimes but we reset and try again. There was also a couple of skateboarders that passed us and Summit didn’t bark! She was curious and starring intently but she didn’t bark! She’s is doing amazing! Overall summit was a good girl today!
Pupdate 12/7/2021
Summit worked on more of her heel today. We worked with little to no leash tension while doing her commands. There were a couple of times where she needed some guidance but overall did it on her own. Her heel is getting a lot better, she doesn’t go ahead of me as much. She is still a little timid so I give her time to adjust before we start to train. Summit was a bit nervous today working in my neighborhood. She was a little jumpy with the cars that would pass and was interested in the people walking up and down the street. Overall, summit is getting a hang of the commands and is slowly coming out if she shell.
Pupdate 12/9/2021
Summit went to the Glendale Galleria where we worked on all of her commands around distractions! She was a little timid at first and was trying to pull me in the beginning but after getting used to her surroundings, she relaxed. Summit is getting a lot better with her extended down and sit. She still tends to get a little nervous if someone walks a little too close to her but after a couple of tries she relaxes. Overall summit did an amazing job today! She ate all of her food and is drinking plenty of water!

Summit went to The Grove today! We worked on all of her commands! She is doing so much better with her heel and doesn’t pull me. We worked on a loose leash today as well. She is still a little anxious and timid when we go out. She tends to have her tail tucked most of the time. I give her some time to get used to her environment before working her. She’s slowly getting more comfortable as we go out to more places. Summit is a really good girl and is doing such a great job! Overall, summit is progressing well and can’t wait to show you what she’s learned!

Summit went to Santa Monica Pier today to work on her commands. She was a little more comfortable being in a beach area but was still a little anxious. She is getting better with her heel. She tends to like to stray to the side. She’s doing a lot better with her extended sit and downs! Summit is a sweet girl and is learning so much!! She ate all of her breakfast and dinner and is drinking plenty of water!
Pupdate 12/12/2021
Summit worked on all of her commands today at Rynerson Park! She did really good today and worked and stayed close to me while we heeled! There were a couple of skateboarders today at the park, summit was really interested but didn’t bark or react! She is still working on her come to sit since she tends to sit a little far back! She did really well with all of her other commands and didn’t seem as stressed today! We also had play time! We played with some of her toys! She played with me for a bit before she just curled up next to me to nap! Overall Summit is doing so good!
Pupdate 12/13/2021
Summit started her morning by going to a local park to work on all of her commands! She was a little nervous this morning going to the park, there were a couple of dogs she was unsure of. We worked mainly on her come to sit and door manners today. She’s getting the hang of her come to sit, I hardly use any leash tension. She’s also a lot better at her door manners. She used to want to rush out of the door now she waits for her break command! Summit is a really smart girl! She also had some play time with me. I try to play with her as much as I can to make her more comfortable. She is still very shy and timid. Overall summit did an amazing job today! She ate all of her food and is going on daily/nightly walks!

Summit was a good girl today! We went for a walk around my neighborhood before it got too windy and rainy! She is still a little timid bug day by day is coming out of her shell. She worked on her commands at home today! We worked on all of her commands! She is getting a lot better with her come to sit. We worked on her extended sit and place as well, she did amazing staying in one place while I walked around and went into different rooms! We also had some play time today! She was actually being really playful and loved playing with her toys! Overall, summit is doing amazing! She ate all of her food and is drinking plenty of water.

Summit did amazing today at Citadel Outlets today! She was still a little timid but really excited to greet people! We worked off leash today! Her heel is getting a lot better! She did get up a couple of times from her extended downs but we reset and tried again. She is getting more confident being in bigger crowds but is still anxious and timid. Summit ate all of her breakfast and dinner and is going potty like normal! She is such a good girl!

Summit went to Hollywood to work on all of her commands! She did amazing around so many loud distractions. She was a little nervous at first but seemed to warm up quickly! We worked off leash! Summit also saw a couple of skateboards and was really interested in them but didn’t bark! She is doing a lot better with her confidence, she isn’t as shy as before. We also worked around other pups and their dogs, she didn’t seem to mind they were there. Overall a he is being such a good girl. Summit ate all of her food!

Summit went to Santa Monica Pier today to work on all of her commands off leash! She did amazing! She stayed close to me and didn’t try to wonder off! She ignored all of the passing dogs and even sat patiently as some came up to her face to sniff at her! She was also a lot more relaxed today, she seemed to be more comfortable being out in public! She did get a bit spooked by some carts but did well overall. We did pass by a couple of skateboarders today, she didn’t bark at the first few that passed. She did let out a small bark at one who passed a little too close but recovered quickly! She is such a good girl and is eating all of her food!

Summit went to the Glendale Galleria today to work on all of her commands! She spent her day training, she also helped a new dog who started their training learn how to heel. She is such a good girl. She was a lot more curious today and was wagging her tail more! She was timid at first but really came out of her shell! We also passed a boy on a skateboard and summit didn’t pay him any attention! She also ate all of her breakfast and dinner! Overall summit is a good job and was a great role model for another pup!
Pupdate 12/19/2021
Summit went to a local park to work on all of her commands this morning! She did amazing and she can’t wait to show you all that she’s learned! She did rip a couple of pieces off of her blanket today while she was in her kennel. The blanket was on top of her kennel and she was able to rip off a few pieces. She didn’t eat any of it. Other than that, she did amazing today! She had a lot of play time and enjoyed her last day with me in my home! Summit ate all of her food today and went potty like normal! We posted a video we took at Santa Monica when summit was in an extended down, she did really great and came a long way in these two weeks!
