Smokey | French Bulldog | Reseda, CA | In-Training
Smokey, a one year old French Bulldog, joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Smokey comes to us with lack of follow his commands, being easily distracted, and pulling on the leash while walking. Over the week he will be working on his on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!
Smokey has settled in well at my home. He is having a blast with his new doggie friends. He has been socializing and playing since he has gotten here.
Today Smokey and I went to the park to start his first day of training. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Heel, and Place. Place is a command where Smokey must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching him to be calm and relax. Heel is still a work in progress but Smokey is walking much better, staying at my side. Click the link above to watch Smokey’s video.
Today Smokey and I stayed home and trained. We practiced commands: Sit, Place, and Heel. We worked on a new command, Down. This is definitely Smokey’s least favorite command to follow. He was quite stubborn in the beginning, but eventually gave in and started obeying the first time I asked.
Today Smokey and I went to the park to work on his obedience commands. We practiced Sit, Down, Heel, and Place. We worked on two new commands: Come to Sit and Come to Heel. Smokey is a very smart boy and has caught on to all his commands quickly.
Today Smokey and I went to the Citadel Outlets to work on his obedience around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers to work around dog distractions. Smokey did a good job. He was a little distracted in the beginning and wanted to say hi to everyone, but as we worked on his commands, he was able to settle down and focus.
Today Smokey and I went to the Block at Orange to work on his obedience around distractions. He did a great job today! He was focused and well behaved.
