Meet Shay!! He is an almost one year old Goldendoodle from Hermosa Beach, California! He is a sweet smart boy who absolutely loves tummy scratches and is all about cuddles. He is here for our One Week Board and Train Program because he can be a bit of a hassle to take on walks! He pulls a ton and either barks or shuts down anytime he sees another dog, squirrel, or bird! He has almost no focus when in public and wants to stop and smell every blade of grass he can find. I am so excited to start with this gorgeous pup, so stay tuned for his 7 day transformation!!

Mr. Shay did awesome his first evening of training! He is still a little shy and showing his tummy for rubs a lot but is coming out of his shell more and more with each passing hour! He has been an angel about his crate, ate his whole dinner and his antibiotic like a champ, and is taking to the system super well! There's not much to show off day 0, but I can't wait to post his first video tomorrow showing off his new skills!

Mr. Shay did so awesome on his first day! We did a few lessons at the park and he is already getting the hang of his Heel command! He did his whole last lesson with the majority of the leash dragging on the ground. He is learning to make a ton of eye contact and is even starting to automatically correct to the left side when he ends up elsewhere! He is such a sweet smart pup!

Mr. Shay had a ton of fun today! We did a really long session at the park and Shay got a deep dive into "Placing" on a bunch of different objects! He was pretty insecure about the truck since it was a bit slippery and super wobbly (it was a "spring rider"). However, once he did it a few times he was climbing up and hangin out on it like a champ!! We also did a shorter session at the dog park. Mr. Shay did really well, he didn't bark a single time and was working through his instincts to lay down. He was laying down more in response to fear of the extreme wind we were experiencing than the other dogs, but I was still happy to get to work him through it! He had a particular big win towards the end of the session when a big husky popped up out of nowhere right next to him on the other side of the fence in the dog park and while Shay initially wanted to say hi/engage he slid right back into his Heel position with a quick "Off, Heel". I was so proud of him!

Happy Birthday Mr. Shay! He got to celebrate with his two new friends Buster and Nico! They had a ton of fun in a socialization session!! Shay even shared his birthday cake toy with everybody!
Shay had such a busy birthday! We did our birthday celebration, an adventure placing on all kinds of objects at the Nature reserve, and then went to the outdoor mall in the evening!! He is coming along so well and is such a happy guy! I can't wait for him to get to show off with mom and dad!

Mr. Shay had an awesome day at the duck park! We went to work through his reactivity to birds, squirrels, and other pups. He did so well! He didn't do a single bark or un-prompted down! He even maintained his commands when the birds all took off at once towards the lake. I am sure that the old Shay would have ended up soaking wet after chasing them all in! We worked really hard on expanding his distance and duration for all of his commands which is making getting cute photos all that much easier!

This guy filmed his final video today!! He did so well and I couldn't be prouder of everything he has managed to learn in the last week! We are going to miss sweet face when he goes home, but will be sure to follow along with his journey via instagram!

Mr. Shay is all packed up to go home in the morning!! He is going to miss his new friends tons but is going to be over the moon to go home to Mom and Dad!!
