Ruby | Doberman Pinscher | Long Beach, CA
Ruby, a 3 year old Doberman Pinscher, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our two week board and train program. Ruby is a very sweet and affectionate girl. Some of the issues Ruby’s owners are having with her are: being easily distracted, not always following commands, leash pulling and reactivity, jumping to greet, and barking. Over the next two weeks Ruby will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!
Today I conditioned Ruby to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit and Place. Place is a command where Ruby has to sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as tea her to be relaxed and calm. She is having a great time with all her new doggie friends.
Ruby and I working on her commands in the neighborhood. Today we started practicing down and heel. Heel is still a work in progress, but she is walking a lot better now. She still gets a distracted and tries to pull, but once I correct her she comes right back to my side.
Today Ruby and I stayed home for training. We practiced all her commands: come to sit, place, down and heel. She did very well, even with her friends trying to distract her.
Today Ruby and her buddy, Finn, joined me on a shopping spree at the Block at Orange. It was very busy there and ruby got to work on her commands around all the people and distractions. She was a little nervous at first, but after we walked around she relaxed. She did very well today! We were able to walk by other dogs without her reacting or breaking command. She sat and downed while stepped away from her and the crowd of people moved around her.
Ruby getting closer to being fully off leash! Today Ruby and I went to the park to work on her commands. I was able to drop the leash and she still obeyed what I asked of her. She is doing such a great job!
Today Ruby, Finn, and I spent the day out in Los Angeles to work on commands. First we went to Blue Collar Working Dog pet store where Ruby got to train on some of the equipment. After we went to a park to work on her off leash commands. She did awesome! Someone came up to us and complimented Ruby on how well behaved she was.

Today ruby and I went to Lowe’s to work on her off leash obedience. she did a great job, even with the forklifts and floor cleaning machine moving around us.
Today Ruby and I went to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to work on her off leash obedience. Ruby did such an awesome job, even with all the loud noises, crowds, and traffic!
