Roxy, a Rottweiler Mix from Canoga Park , CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal Board & Train dog training program. Roxy was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, CA .
Roxy, a 7 month old Rottweiler Mix, has joined Offleash SoCal for our 2 week board and train program. Roxy is a sweet girl who loves people and wants to play with every dog she sees. Some of her bad habits are: she grabs things but won’t drop if told, play bites, jumps to greet people, and will bark at other dogs when on a walk. Over the next 2 weeks Roxy will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Today Roxy started her first day of training. We worked on come to sit and place. Place is a great command for building confidence as well as teaching Roxy to relax and be calm. She has to sit or lay on an object and just stay put. All 4 feet must be on the place object. I noticed she had some soft stool, so im going to take away the wet food and see if that helps. Roxy did a great job for her first day of training. She is having a blast playing with all her new doggie friends.

Roxy and doing some night training at a local park. We practiced more come to sit and place. We started working on her loose leash heel. She gets a little distracted and pulls away from me, but once I correct her she comes right back to my side. Still a work in progress, but She did very good for her second day of training. She still seems to have soft stool, even with just eating the dry food only. I’m going to try giving her rice and chicken broth tomorrow to see if that helps her stomach.

Today we stayed home for training. Roxy and I practiced all her commands: come to sit, down, place, off leash heel. Roxy is doing a great job with all her obedience commands. Now we are starting to work on her duration and holding commands for longer periods of time.

Today I had my little helper, my nephew, train Roxy with me. We went to the elementary school again to work on commands. Roxy did a great job following commands from my nephew. She really liked him a lot and followed him everywhere he went.

Today Roxy and her frien, Pippi, joined me on a shopping spree at the Block at Orange. She did very well with her off leash obedience with all the distractions around us.

It was a little hot today, so Roxy enjoyed splashing around in her little pool. Once it cooled down, we went for a walk and practiced her offleash commands around the neighborhood. We stopped by at my cousin‘s house and Roxy got to play and socialize with the kids.
