Roo had an eventful day! She's here at camp now and settled in nicely. We're relaxing outside playing with a ball this evening.
Working on some car desensitizing. We spent about 20 minutes here just sitting nicely with the car off, and I gave her some treats for staying calm.
Roo being a cutie during one of our walks. Her basics are coming along nicely but her attention span needs some work!
Practicing those food refusal skills with a yummy peanut butter kong!
We did some car desensitizing earlier this morning and took a trip to a shopping center this evening! Roo is getting better with her leash manners, and holding basic commands. She didn't want to eat all of her dinner this evening, only about half. So a total of 2.5 cups today. I'll keep an eye on her tomorrow and make sure her appetite is normal.
We spent most of today working with treats and a chain training collar for walks. She ate all of her food, and we introduced door manners too!
Walking by a busy road to help get used to lots of stimulation! We kept this walk fairly short, .75 of a mile.
Roo and I went to the home depot again for more training and exposure. She had a rough time in the car, and a little bit starting at home depot, but after a couple minutes and some breaks for pets, she gained a little confidence.
We only practiced off leash a little
We stopped by a local shopping center to practice some basics with a short lead hanging. She got overwhelmed a bit, so we tried to keep it pretty short. She was really drooly on the ride back, this was the longest we'd driven together so far. When we got back I gave her lots of love and we played in the backyard a bit.
