Ringo, a Dutch Shepherd Mix from Los Angeles California went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal 2 Week Board and Train Dog Training Program. Ringo was trained by dog trainer Oliver Dunn in Corona, CA.

Ringo's at camp for 14 days! He's a sweet guy that likes to pull on leash, and doesn't like to listen sometimes.

Day of drop-off: he's doing good! A little anxious to be away from his home, but starting to settle in. We introduced the collar to work on sit and come, tonight we'll introduce heel! He ate part of the food I put out, but not all of it.

Today we mainly stayed at home to practice basics, but we went to the home depot earlier this evening again too. Ringo's still having a rough time with the separation anxiety, and cries a lot when he can't see me. He's starting to get the hang of basics, but needs help holding them for a longer duration when he's around people. We practiced basics at home depot with a longer duration, and by the time we were done he would hold a sit while people walked by.

Happy boy at the store! He had a hard time staying focused while we walked around the tight isles, but held his sit & down while I browsed. Tomorrow we're going to start practicing our heel off leash around the neighborhood.

We spent a lot of today proofing basics with distractions, like toys being thrown, or people walking by. We also incorporated obedience into playtime! This really motivated him, and he caught on quickly. Tomorrow we're going to practice off leash in public!

Pupdate 11/13/2019 Practicing holding commands, even when fun toys are laying around. We switched to steel contact points, and haven't had any reactions since. Today we went for a nice walk in the morning, and then practiced basics. We're going to PetSmart later this evening to work on commands!

Practicing place! We went over basics off leash at home and around the neighborhood this morning, and then played around the backyard for a while. Tomorrow we're heading to the beach to do more training.
