Riley and I spent the day getting to know each other. Riley adjusted well to leash pressure around her neck and was really excited to go on a walk. She did try to pull back a couple of times and stop but after a couple of seconds she would rush to catch up. We had our first lesson today, I introduced her to the e-collar and we worked on ‘come to sit’. She was really hesitant about the e-collar and leash pressure so she would stay planted on the ground. It took us a couple of tries before we were able to get a couple of good reps in. She adjusted really well to the kennel and took a long nap before our second walk. She even went potty when I took her out and did a great job not going in the kennel. She ate majority of her food today and drank a bit of water. Overall, Riley is doing amazing and is so sweet.

Riley and I worked on her ‘heel’ today! She would resist at first and would pull back on the leash but after a couple of minutes she would catch up to me. She still pulls back a bit but not as much as she did when we first started. We also worked on our ‘come to sit’. Riley did such a good job with that and caught on pretty quickly. Riley is such a sweet girl and is learning the ‘go potty’ command! She didn’t have any accidents in her kennel and is adjusting really well. She ate all of her breakfast and dinner and drank plenty of water! Overall, she is such a smart little girl.

Riley is doing such a great job with her ‘heel’! She is getting the hang of walking right next to me. At times she will try to go ahead of me or lag behind but with a couple of corrections she catches up. She did struggle with her ‘come to sit’ today and would try to walk in the opposite direction. Once we worked on it some more she got the hang of it quickly. She’s also a lot better with her ‘sit’ and doesn’t have to be told as many times to do it. She did get really excited when she saw a couple of dogs at the park today but tried her hardest to stay focused! She is such a good girl. We worked on her ‘down’ today as well. She still struggles with it and still needs leash pressure to help her down. We ended our training session by introducing ‘place’! She is doing great at jumping up on things and even had enough confidence to jump up on the slide by her self. She ate all of her breakfast and dinner!

Riley went to Pan Pacific Park to work on all of her commands today! She was a little overwhelmed with all of the dogs and people that were passing us. She would try to walk up to everyone and wanted to say hello to them. After working her around distractions she seemed to relax and was a lot better at walking by other dogs. She still needs to be reminded to stay in a ‘heel’ or else she’ll stray too far ahead. She is getting a lot better at her ‘come to sit’ but still needs leash guidance to help her get in the correct position. We worked on her ‘down’ today, she needs a little more work on it but she’s slowly getting the hang of it! Overall, Riley did such a great job today.

Overall, Riley is getting more confident at walking with no leash tension. We worked on our ‘come to sit ‘ today and Riley did a couple of good reps without any leash guidance! She is picking it up quickly. She still struggles with her down and place but is getting better every day. She ate all of her breakfast and dinner and drank plenty of water before bed.
