Today once picking up Riggins from Mikes, we went to a local park down the street in La Habra Ca, to get some training in before the holiday festivities! Today we focused on engagement and recalls with Riggins, just regarding him with food whenever I called his name. Once I saw that Riggins picked that up quickly, we started to make things fun by having him go up on different objects and surfaces! Overall Riggins did a great job for his first day with me, canā€™t wait to see what this pup had inĀ store!

I apologize in advance for the object blocking the video in the corner, but you are still able to see all of Riggins commands! Today Riggins and I met up with OffLeash SoCal team at a local park in the city of Orange to get to training around other dogs and distractions. Today we focused on the ā€œheelā€ command along with the ā€œsitā€ command as well around other dogs and people. Riggins is doing a great job of responding to the ecollar tool! Heā€™s got a solid understanding of the tool and of what the stimulation means as well! Overall Riggins is doing an amazing job and is on track to be fully off leash within the next couple of days!

Today Riggins and I took a field trip to our local Home Depot by my house to get some training in around the distractions there! Today we focused on his ā€œheelā€ command along with his durations for his ā€œsitā€ and ā€œdownā€ commands. Riggins is eager to work and loves to please his handler! Overall with the minimum amount of distractions that were there today, I say he did a great job! He is on a great track of being off leash!Ā

Today Riggins and I went to a local park by my house in San Dimas Ca, to get some training in! Today we focused on his off leash ā€œheelā€ ā€œsitā€ and ā€œdownā€ commands, with just the leash dragging. I also had my personal dog out on the side for distractions for Riggins. Riggins and my personal pup Kisa, they love to run around and chase each other. Overall Riggins is doing a phenomenal job!

Today Riggins and I took a long evening walk with my other board and train dog Bailey! I tested out his obedience commands alongside another dog like ā€œheelā€, ā€œsitā€, ā€œdownā€, along with their duration for the commands. At first he was not able to hold his ā€œdownā€ command around Bailey, but with repetition and showing Riggins the same picture over and over again, he was able to pick things up. Overall he did a great job working alongside another dog!

Today Riggins and I had a session on my driveway! We focused on off leash obedience, and he did great! Iā€™ve noticed at times he does go towards my gate, only because he wants to go play with the other pups. He has a clear understanding of all of his commands, now its time to focus more on the duration for his commands. Along with cleaning up the ā€œcome to sitā€ command.Ā

Riggins is doing a great job of holding his durations now around other people and dogs. Tomorrow we will be focusing on his ā€œcome to sitā€ command mainly. Riggins is now able to heel along my left side with just the leash dragging all around the crowded mall.Ā

Today Riggins and I went to the park by my house in San Dimas Ca, to get some training in! Today we focused on his ā€œcome to sitā€ command, along with proofing the rest of his obedience. He is doing a great job at responding to the ecollar along with his commands as well, at times he does get tempted to play with my pup on the side but he knows to keep his composure whenever itā€™s training time. We will continue to work on proofing all of his off leash obedience every day. After our session, Riggins and Kisa had a long play session at the park where they chased each other around for about an hour.Ā

Today Riggins and I went back to the park by my house to get some training in! Today we focused on his long distance durations for his ā€œsitā€ and ā€œdownā€ commands! At first, he would break his positions whenever I walked away from him for more than 10 ft, as soon as he broke his positions, I would quickly take space away along with using the ecollar tool to reinforce the command. After a couple of reinforced corrections, he was able to hold his positions from a 20 ft distance! Along with holding his ā€œdownā€ position next to my personal pup without getting up and playing around. Ā

Today Riggins and I worked on our in home manners, because it was raining outside. We worked on our ā€œdoor mannerā€ and ā€œfood mannerā€. For his door manners, Riggins understands to sit and down at the door, until I give him further commands, he is no longer allowed to just bolt out the door whenever it is open, always a structured entrance into the home and a structured exit. With Riggins's food manners, I simply just lead him to the place and have him hold his place command while I place his bowl on the ground in front of him, he is only allowed to eat once I give him the ā€œbreakā€ command.Ā

Today Riggins and I met up with the offleash socal team at a local park in Bell Gardens Ca, to get some training in together. Riggins and I had multiple short sessions today, due to the rain today. During one of our session we worked on all of his obedience off leash at the playground of the park, we worked on all of his general obedience commands, along with holding his positions in the rain with other dogs nearby. We practice training in the rain only because it is a real life situation. Our dogs need to learn to work in the rain as well, its not always going to be dry on walks, sometimes we will need to talk our dogs on walks in the rain to relieve them and let them go potty.Ā

Today Riggins and I went to my local Home Depot in Glendora Ca, to get some training alongside the shoppers for distractions. I had a little tab leash attached to him just for security reasons, we worked on all of our obedience. We worked on our ā€œheelā€ command a lot turning left, at times Riggins would try to lead whenever we would make a left turn. Whenever he decided to lead me I would simply just make a 180 turn and utilize the stim from the ecollar at the same time, just to let him know to get back to my side. Overall Riggins has a clear understanding of all of his commands, including holding his positions without being told to ā€œstayā€. Ā

Today Riggins and I went to my local park to get some training done earlier in the day, before we go proof our training at a local mall later on tonight. Today we proofed all of our obedience commands along side another board and train pup Muncy! Muncy is a high energy pup that loves to play, it was a perfect distraction for Riggins! Riggins is fully off leash now, he has a fully understanding of all of the commands, along with understanding with that stimulation means. I canā€™t wait to showcase what he had learned with me these past two weeks in front of you guys!
