Remi, an eight month old Belgian Malinois, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Remi comes to us with not always following commands, not walking properly on leash, jumping to greet, being reactive towards strangers and other dogs, and being easily distracted. Over the two weeks Remi will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Remi is settling in well at my home. She is getting along well with my pack. She was a little nervous meeting them at first, but warmed up to them quickly. She has been running around and playing nonstop since she got here.
Pupdate 2/13/2023
Today Remi and I went to the park to work on iher commands. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place, and Heel. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Remi had plenty of dog distractions to work around. She didn't show any aggression or reactivity towards the trainers or other dogs. She was a little shy, but friendly and playful with the other dogs. Remi did a great job on her first day of training! She caught on to her commands quickly.

Happy Valentines Day! Today Remi and I went to the Citadel Outlets to work on her obedience around distractions. She was a bit nervous when we first arrive, but as we walked around she settled down. We practiced place, Sit, Down, and Heel. She did very well on her sending day, especially around a lot of distractions.

Remi and I went down to Huntington Beach today. One of our new trainers worked with her and practiced her commands. We worked on a new command, come to sit. This command can be a little bit tricky, but Remi is starting to get the hang of it. She was a little bit nervous and distracted in the new environment, but pulled through and was able to listen and follow commands.

Remi and I went to the park to work on her obedience. She did much better today. She was a lot more confident. Remi was very focused and followed all of her commands. She is doing much better with the come to suit command. We worked on her distance and duration.

Remi and I went to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to work on her obedience around distractions. She was definitely nervous with all the commotion going on around us, but was still able to stay focused and follow all her commands. As we walked around Remi became more relaxed and calm.

Today Remi and I went to a local shopping center to work on her commands. She was more relaxed since there was light distractions. We practiced all her commands semi-off leash! I let her drag the leash around while we practiced. Remi did pretty well. We just need to clean up a few of her commands and then she will be ready to work completely off leash.

Today Remi and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so she had plenty of dog distractions to train around. She did very well. We worked semi-off leash. Remi was definitely interested in the other dogs, but stayed focused and followed her commands.

Today Remi and I stayed home for training. We worked on all her obedience commands. I used her friends as a distraction and let them play while Remi and I trained. She was a little distracted and wanted to join in on the fun, but was still able to focus and follow through with her commands. We also worked on her door manners, teaching her not to pass thresholds without permission. Once training was over, I let Remi join her friends for playtime.

Today Remi and I went to the block at orange to work on her off leash commands around distractions. It was very windy which made Remi anxious and made it hard for her to focus. We had a little trouble with holding her commands because all she wanted to do was stay at my side. I made sure she followed through with her commands, but stayed closer to her.

Today Remi and I went to the mall to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She did pretty well. She was a a bit nervous in the beginning, but as we walked around and worked on her commands, she was able to relax and focus.Ā We had a few admirers stop to watch her train. Remi received a few compliments on how well behaved she is off leash.

Today Remi and I worked on her commands at home to stay out of the rain. We worked on all her commands. We also worked on her duration and door manners .

Today Remi took the day off from training and spent the day playing and socializing with her friends before she leaves tomorrow. I am so proud of Remi and the progress she has made over these two weeks. She canāt wait to go home and show you everything she has learned!
