Ravioli, a five month old Labradoodle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Three Week Board and Train program. Ravioli comes to us with typical puppy behavior: being easily distracted, not holding his commands, jumping to greet, not walking properly on leash, etc. Over the Three Weeks Ravioli will be working on his off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Ravioli is settling in well at my home. He has made himself right at home. He is having a blast with all his new doggie friends. He has been running around and playing nonstop since he got here.

Today Ravioli and I went to the park to work on his obedience. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place, and Heel. Place is a command where Ravioli must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching him to be calm and relaxed. As you can see in the beginning of the video he was scared of the dog cot, but once I guided him on he became more confident and climbed on all by himself. We also work on the Heel command. It is still a work in progress, but Ravioli is walking much better now. He is staying close to my side and focusing on where I am going. Ravioli did a great job on his first day of training!

Today Ravioli and I stayed home to train. We practiced more of Sit, Place, and Heel. We worked on a new command, Down. Not sure if he already knows the command, but he caught on very quickly. I used his friends as a distraction and let them run around and play while Ravioli and I worked. He did very well. He stayed focused even with his friends trying to get him to play along. Once training was over I let him join in on the fun.

He was a bit distracted when we first arrived, but as we walked around and trained he was able to relax and focus. We worked on his distance and duration. Ravioli practiced a new command, Come to Sit. This can be a bit tricky, but he is starting to get the hang of it. A few of the Lowe's employees complimented Ravioli on his good behavior. He sat nicely while they pet and gave him affection.
