Pearl, a six year old English Bulldog, joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Pearl comes to us knowing commands but not always following them, not walking properly on leash, jumping to greet, and being easily distracted. Over the two weeks Pearl will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Today Pearl and I went to the park to work on her commands around distractions. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Place and Come. Place is a command where Pearl must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching her to be relaxed and calm. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so pearl had plenty of dogs to practice around. She got to see her brothers, but she wasnāt all that thrilled to see them. Pearl had a great first day of training.

Today Pearl and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced more on Place, Come, and Sit. We also worked on two new commands: Down and Heel. Pearl knows Down, but wanted to give me the hardest time. Heel is still a work in progress, but she is walking much better now and staying closer to my side. Pearl is a smart girl, but loves to be stubborn and only do what she wants.

Today Pearl and I went to Lowes to work on her obedience around distractions. She was a bit distracted with all the noise and commotion going on around us. Once we walked around she settled down and was able to focus on her commands. She did better with her down command today, being more willing to lay down and not give me such a hard time.

Happy Thanksgiving! Today Pearl and I went to the park to work on her commands. She did pretty well. She obeyed and followed most of her commands. She has times where she would be stubborn and not listen. I stayed consistent with the ask so she would follow through with all her commands.Ā

She was a bit distracted when we first got there, but as we walked around, she was able to focus back on her commands. We met with other Offleash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Pearl was able to practice around dog distractions. She did a great job today.

Today Pearl and I went to the park to work on her obedience. She did pretty well. She is getting better with following though with her commands, being a little less defiant. We tried working semi-off leash today, but she isn't quite ready for that. We will keep practicing and soon she will be ready to work off leash. We need to tighten up a few of her commands first.

Today Pearl and I went to a local dog park to work on her obedience around a lot of dog distractions. She did well around the dog distractions, since sheās not the type of dog that is interested in going up and meeting other dogs. She was a little distracted with bikes passing by us. She would try and go towards them as they would get closer, but I told her āoffā and had her focus back on me. We practiced semi-off leash for a bit, but once she got tired I had to grab the leash because she wanted to be stubborn and not listen.

Today Pearl and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We met with all the OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Pearl had plenty of dog distractions to practice around today we worked semi-off leash. I didn't have to hold the leash or help her once. She followed all her commands, of course with a little sass and stubbornness, but overall was obedient. Pearl did a great job today!

Today Pearl and I stayed home for training. We worked on all her obedience commands. I used friends as a distraction and let them play while we trained. Pearl wasn't interested in playing with them, so she stayed focused and followed all her commands. We also practiced her door manners, food manners, and load up.

Today Pearlās tummy wasnāt feeling too well, so we stayed home and worked on her obedience. We practiced all her commands. I fed her white rice today to help soak up whatever is bothering her stomach. I will keep an eye on it and see how she is feeling tomorrow.
