Noodle | Bernedoodle | Redondo Beach, CA | In-Training

Meet Mr. Noodle! He is a one year old Bernedoodle from Redondo Beach California. He is one happy gentle giant! He is one big goy but is a total love bug. He is with us for our Two Week Board and Train Program because he is unaware of his size and regularly sits, jumps, and paws at people and he pulls and reacts to other dogs on walks. I can't wait to see how much he learns in the next 14 days! Stay tuned for his transformation!

Mr. Noodle is all settled in! He is adjusting really well and is a total happy camper in his kennel. He got to explore the temporary new digs and get acquainted with the other trainee/my pup (through the kennel door, they will need a few days to get used to each other). I am so excited to get started with this guy!

Mr. Noodle getting some pre-bed scratches! He is doing fantastic with the kennel, even volunteered getting in it on his way back in! Like we anticipated he wasn't super hungry for dinner. I will be giving him a couple normal meals to see if he works up an appetite and then start utilizing the tips and tricks to get him to eat if he hasn't by tomorrow evening. Overall he is doing awesome!

Noodle got used to the E-Collar and learned his Recall today! He is a stubborn boy, but he is super smart! He slept pretty well in the kennel last night, everybody on the block was barking in response to the wind so I can't blame him for chiming in! Outside of the wind though he was a happy camper. Because of the air quality we went for several shorter sessions in the backyard. Mr. Noodle is picking up on the system really well already. He has eaten a little bit (about 1.5 cups of kibble over the day), not quite where I want him but I will watch his weight and bust out the chicken and cheese if he still hasn't eaten enough tomorrow.

Mr. Noodle made a ton of progress today! We ended up doing our last session of the day at the shopping center for some low level distractions! We worked on his Heel, Recall, and Sit. He is doing really well. The first bit he was wanting to pull a ton since everything smelled like food, but was Heeling for me like a champ by the end! He is eating a bit more than yesterday, he still isn't quite where I want him so we added some cheese to both his meals. It worked really well with breakfast, but not so much dinner! I guess we will have to work that much more tomorrow to work up his appetite!

Mr. Noodle is coming close to having a good understanding of all his commands! We worked a bit in the backyard and then did two sessions at the park. He was definitely super distracted at the park. We had all kinds of smells, kids on scooters, reactive dogs, and squirrels. We worked primarily on his recall, Heel, and getting a bit of distance/duration for his Sit and Down commands. It was quite a bit of work for him to filter out all of the distractions but I am so proud of how much progress he made! He didn't quite finish either of his meals, but he is eating and so far his weight is looking fine. If it starts to drop, I will try to up the value of his food a bit more!

Mr. Noodle is now practicing all of his commands with little to no leash direction and is looking awesome! We were able to do a great session practicing a little bit of everything today and he is becoming so fun to work!

Noodle went to the duck park today and did awesome! We are getting away from needing the lead for the most part. He was pretty scared of getting on the park bench and needed some guidance at first but was quickly getting up there without any help!

Noodle says Happy Halloween! He did really well today! We introduced side corrections (shifting to the proper Heel side even when started on the wrong one), we worked on the duration/distance for all of his stationary commands (Sit, Down, Place), and are getting further and further away from needing the leash. He also is jumping up into the back of my car and loading himself into his kennel without any help now! No needing a boost, even without a running start.

Noodle got to socialize with his fellow trainee Mia today! He was a bit stiff with her at first and then got a little too excited about her during their first bit of playing, but once he was comfortable with her and we got his mounting under control they had an absolute blast! Between his socialization session and working on his skills at the park he is one tuckered out pup!

Mr. Noodle worked in front of the small dog portion of the dog park today! The first half of the lesson the little dogs parking and running up to the fence were really distracting for him and he wanted to engage with them, but after a couple repetitions of his commands it was like they weren't even there!

Pupdate 11/03/2020

Mr. Noodle is looking sharp! I am so proud of home muc progress he has made. We worked around the ducks today, while they were fairly distracting last time we were at a duck park it took Noodle a bit to focus but today he barely even acknowledged their existence! I am so excited to flex his skills and teach you all his commands the rest of this week.

Noodle helped me make a tutorial about his Recall command today! Please email me if you have any questions or need any clarification. You will have two hours with me on Sunday but the more I can teach via video the more time we have to practice and go over other things!

Mr. Noodle is all ready to film his final video over the next two days! He is such a sweet happy boy! He will be helping me make another tutorial tomorrow as well. He is going to be over the moon to go home this weekend!

Noodle is looking great! He did some work on his final video, made an instructional video on the rest of his commands, and got a bath! He is such a sweet boy and has come so far!

Pupdate 11/07/2020

Noodle is done filming everything for his final video! He is all packed up and ready to go home bright and early tomorrow morning!
