Please welcome Millie, our German Shepherd who just arrived for a two-week Urban board & train, training on leash only, alongside her brother King. Millie is still getting oriented to her new environment, taking everything in and adjusting to the routine.
Over the next two weeks, we’ll be focusing on on-leash obedience, clear communication, and structured work in real-world urban settings. The goal is to build reliable behavior through consistency, repetition, and fair expectations while helping Millie become more comfortable navigating everyday distractions.

Millie is settling in nicely and doing a great job adjusting to her new environment. Right now we’re taking the time to figure out her baseline obedience—seeing what she already knows, how she responds to guidance, and where we can best support her moving forward. She’s been calm and thoughtful as she takes everything in, and her confidence continues to build as the days go on.
She’s eating great and has a solid appetite, which is always a good sign, and she’s clearly feeling comfortable here. One of the highlights has been watching her spend quality time with her brother King—their bond is strong and it’s been great for both of them as they settle in together. Overall, Millie is off to a very good start and we’re excited to keep building with her from here.

Millie had a really solid day today, working through a few short sessions spread out across the day. She’s responding well to leash pressure and starting to understand how to follow it calmly instead of resisting or guessing. In no-distraction environments, she’s doing a nice job listening and following her commands with more confidence and clarity each session. You can really see things clicking for her as the repetitions add up, and that steady foundation is setting her up well for success as we begin introducing more distractions and chipping away at her reactivity.

Millie put in the work today with five sessions spread throughout the day, and it really showed. We continued introducing the Place command, keeping it calm and intentional so she could clearly understand the expectation. Each session helped her connect the dots a little more—getting onto place, staying there, and learning to relax instead of anticipating movement. We also reinforced her other core commands during each session, building consistency without overwhelming her. Multiple short sessions like this are perfect for her, and she’s steadily gaining clarity and confidence with every rep.

Millie put in some great work today with a few separate training sessions, including time inside Home Depot while dealing with medium-level distractions. Even with the rain outside, she stayed in a good working mindset and handled the change in weather and environment really well.
Today was about exposure and confidence — moving through new spaces, working around people, carts, and noise, and learning how to stay composed even when things aren’t perfect outside. The rain actually added another layer of challenge, and she did a nice job pushing through it and staying responsive.
You can really see her becoming more comfortable working in real-world settings, and each session helped reinforce calm behavior and focus despite everything going on around her. Strong progress for Millie today, especially considering the weather and distractions.

Millie was back at Home Depot today, but this time we intentionally worked in busier, more distracting areas to really stretch her comfort zone. She stayed connected to her handler, followed well, and continued to show solid understanding of her commands even with a lot going on around her.
What stood out was her confidence building in real time — big noises, carts, and people moving around didn’t stop her from working. You can see her starting to trust the process more and more, settling in and realizing she can handle these environments. Each session like this helps her grow, and today was another strong step forward for her.

Millie had multiple solid sessions today and wrapped up her final day training at Home Depot. Each session showed steady improvement, with better focus and growing confidence.
Tomorrow we’ll be moving into a much higher-distraction environment to push her further outside her comfort zone. Based on how she’s been handling each session, we’re confident she’s ready to step up and meet the challenge. Looking forward to seeing her continue to build on this progress!

Millie had a big win today working in high-distraction environments. We pushed her comfort zone and put her to work around a lot more movement, noise, and real-world distractions — and she handled it extremely well. She stayed focused, worked through her commands, and showed a lot of maturity in how she processed everything around her.
What stood out most was how minimal her reactivity was, especially considering the level of distraction. That’s a huge step forward for her and shows how quickly she’s learning to stay neutral and engaged even when the environment gets busy. Every session like this builds more confidence and better decision-making for her, and today was a great example of that progress.

Millie had a big win today with sessions out in Century City, Los Angeles. This was a high-distraction environment, and she handled it beautifully. She stayed focused, worked through her commands, and most importantly showed no reactivity despite all the sights, sounds, and people around. You could really see her confidence building as the session went on. These kinds of outings are huge for her progress, and today was a strong step forward in helping her stay calm, neutral, and engaged no matter where we are. Really proud of how she showed up today.

Millie is finding her rhythm. Big crowds still push her comfort zone, and you can see a little reactivity pop up when things get busy — but what matters is how quickly she recovers. She’s starting to process the environment instead of getting overwhelmed by it.
Each outing, she’s settling faster and staying engaged longer. That tells us her confidence is building, even when the setting is noisy and unpredictable. She’s not perfect in crowds yet, but she’s learning how to move through them instead of fighting them — and that’s real progress.

Millie spent today working on her door manners, focusing on waiting calmly, holding position, and moving through doors with control instead of rushing. This is a big confidence and impulse-control exercise for her, and you could see her starting to slow herself down and think through her choices rather than just reacting.
Along with that, she practiced her other core commands in busy environments, working through real-world distractions and learning to stay engaged even with a lot going on around her. We also focused on neutral socialization — being around people and activity without needing to react — which is especially important for building her confidence and comfort in public spaces.
She had moments where she wanted to push forward, but with guidance she settled, waited for permission, and followed through cleanly. Each session showed small improvements, and by the end of the day she was moving with more patience, awareness, and focus. Productive, well-rounded day for Millie, building both obedience and confidence where it matters most.

Millie spent a good part of today training alongside King, and she handled the change in dynamic really well. Working in tandem added an extra layer of challenge for her, but she stayed composed and worked through the shared space calmly with another dog moving alongside her.
The three of us went out on a structured pack walk, and Millie did a solid job staying with the group, matching the pace, and handling the environment without getting overwhelmed. This is especially important so her owner can confidently and safely walk both dogs together, and today was a big step toward making that a smooth, manageable routine at home.
She showed better composure, growing confidence, and steady progress while working around her brother. Productive, real-world work for Millie today, building the kind of teamwork and reliability that matters outside of formal training.

Millie spent today working in tandem with her brother King, focusing on leash work and following commands while moving together as a team. Training side-by-side adds pressure for her, but she stayed engaged and continued to work through it without losing composure.
While it’s hard to tell in the video, there were three dogs very close to us during the session, including while practicing the Place command on a picnic table. Millie handled the proximity well, staying more settled and focused than she has in the past.
They move well together overall, and while they still need more practice, they’re noticeably more in sync. Each session like this makes them easier and more manageable for their owner to handle together, and today showed real progress in shared space and cooperative work.

Millie had a fantastic final day of training today as we filmed her last video. She did exceptionally well and showed off everything she’s learned over the past sessions. It’s been a true pleasure working with her—focused, responsive, and full of personality. Tomorrow she heads home, and we couldn’t be prouder of her progress and accomplishments.
