Mia and I went for a walk as soon as we got home to get a little bit of her excitement/ anxiety out. I also introduced the e-collar to her again and she did amazing. She is such a good girl! Mia and I also went to a local park to practice a little bit of her heel, we didn’t do too much since she’s getting used to being in a new environment again. She ate all her dinner and took a much needed nap from today’s stress.

Mia worked on her heel today at Hacienda Park! She did amazing we also worked on a lot of confidence building where she walked on a bridge and climbed up on a slide! She also got to meet Oso, another lab! She did a good job meeting him and playing with him! She was pretty tired after our long day so she spent the rest of the day working on down in home since that’s something she struggles with! She ate all of her food and even went potty outside.

Mia did a lot of confidence building today as well as more place work! She has gotten more comfortable getting on things and under things. There were a couple of horses that passed by that she was unsure of but she didn’t bark. She did bark at me trying to get me to pay attention to her but I ignored her. She then stopped barking once she realized it wasn’t getting her what she wanted. There were a couple of dogs and children at the park and she didn’t seem to mind them. She did a really good job. We also worked on her break command. Every time I called her name she thought that it meant she could break her command and get up and walk around so we worked on her learning her name was just to get her attention and not her ‘break’ word. It took a couple of tries but she soon got it! She’s doing amazing and is eating all of her food with no added cheese. I just added some warm water. She is also going potty outside and has had no accidents.

Mia and I worked on her heel and come to sit. She is getting better at both! We’re still working on her distractions. She seems to get really anxious around other dogs and being in new environments. We also worked on her duration, every time I moved she wanted to move. She is getting a lot better at staying in one place but we’re working on her not getting up and getting distracted. Mia has also learned to give eye contact which is amazing! It lets me know she’s engaging with me and isn’t paying attention to what’s around her. She gets a lot of praise when she does this! This is also her way of telling me she wants reassurance if she’s ever in a situation she’s unsure of so this is why she gets a lot of praise. Mia also hasn’t had any accidents at home and she’s eaten all of her breakfast and dinner.

Mia went to Huntington Beach where she was faced with distractions that were much different than she was used to. She was really anxious being around a new dog but soon, after proper introductions and rewarding her when she was calm, she soon realized it wasn’t so bad! We practiced more on her durations and she hasn’t been wanting to get up as much. She is also doing a lot better and her downs and was even a bit impatient when we were grabbing coffee. She soon learned to relax which She got a lot of praise for. She is doing so much better at her heel as well! She also went potty outside and hasn’t had any accident.

Mia went to The Block today to work on all her commands. We met up with other trainers and their pups and worked around them. She did amazing not getting overly excited! She’s gotten a lot better at her down but she still needs a little bit of work. Her heel has gotten so much better and she ignores passing people. She’s still curious but hasn’t barked or tried to go up to anyone. Mia is also eating all of her food and hasn’t gone potty inside. She also enjoyed some play time at a local park where we practiced her durations, staying in place without moving. She is a smart girl and learns fast!

She did really well around other dogs, she was totally disinterested! We did see some cats and she was lunging for them and trying to go see them but I gave her the off command and worked her around the cats. She did great and soon ignored them. She is doing so well! I can’t wait for you to see her progress.

Mia went to Home Depot to work on her down and durations. She is getting better at downing in public but she still struggles to do it without any help. Mia went to a local park to practice downing on odd objects she hasn’t laid on before. She doesn’t like to lay on anything that’s too small. She was a little uncomfortable but with reassurance and praise she was soon getting more confident. We also worked on adding distance with her downs and she is doing great! We also passed by another dog on our daily walks and she just ignored him and kept walking! Mia is doing so much better. She is so smart and I can’t wait for you to see her progress!
