Maze, a one year old German Shepherd, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Maze comes to us with lack of following commands when distracted, pulling on the leash while walking, dog reactivity, and jumping to greet. Over the two weeks Maze will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Maze is getting settled in at my home. It took a little time getting her out of the car, she was barking and growling at me. Once I was able to get her out of the car, she was fine with me. She didnāt make a great first impression with my pack. Maze was lunging and barking trying to get to them, so sheās going to stay separated from the group until she gets use to them.

Today Maze and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced commands Sit and Heel. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Maze had plenty of dog distractions to work around. She did pretty well around the other dogs, no barking or lunging. Another trainer helped me introduce her to the other dogs I am training, to see if they could did along. Maze didnāt try to play but was respectful to them.

Today Maze and I worked on her training at home. We practiced all her commands. We worked on her food manners, door manners, and loading up. I used her friends as distractions and let them play while we practiced. It was a little hard for her to focus, because she wanted to join in on the fun, but I made sure she followed through with her commands. Once training was over she was able to go play and socialize with her buddies.
