Maze | German Shepherd | Inglewood, CA | In-Training

Maze, a one year old German Shepherd, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Maze comes to us with lack of following commands when distracted, pulling on the leash while walking, dog reactivity, and jumping to greet. Over the two weeks Maze will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Maze is getting settled in at my home. It took a little time getting her out of the car, she was barking and growling at me. Once I was able to get her out of the car, she was fine with me. She didn’t make a great first impression with my pack. Maze was lunging and barking trying to get to them, so she’s going to stay separated from the group until she gets use to them.

Today Maze and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced commands Sit and Heel. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Maze had plenty of dog distractions to work around. She did pretty well around the other dogs, no barking or lunging. Another trainer helped me introduce her to the other dogs I am training, to see if they could did along. Maze didn’t try to play but was respectful to them.

Today Maze and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced a new command, Place. She is a very smart girl and learns quickly. She did a great job today! Now that she has learned the Place command, I was able to get her on the scale to get her accurate weight.

Today Maze and I went to Fashion Island to start working on her commands around distractions. She was was a little overwhelmed in the beginning, but as we walked around she was able to settle down and focus on her commands. A few times she was reactive towards small dogs, bigger dogs she was fine with.

Today Maze and I worked on her training at home. We practiced all her commands. We worked on her food manners, door manners, and loading up. I used her friends as distractions and let them play while we practiced. It was a little hard for her to focus, because she wanted to join in on the fun, but I made sure she followed through with her commands. Once training was over she was able to go play and socialize with her buddies.

Today Maze and I went to the park to work on her commands. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their dogs, so Maze was able to practice around plenty of dog distractions. Maze practiced her commands semi-off leash! I let her drag the leash around while we worked on commands. She did very well. We just need to tighten up a few of her commands and she will be ready to start working completely off leash.

Today Maze took the day off from training and spent the day socializing and playing with her friends before she goes home tomorrow. I gave her a bath, so she is all clean when she goes home. Maze can’t wait to show you everything she has learned!
