Maui spent his first day getting to know the neighborhood and his new living arrangements. We worked on the basic commands to get him accustomed to me and keep training fun. He went for a walk around the neighborhood and worked on not pulling on the leash. We also introduced the place command and come to sit. He definitely had no problem eating which is a great start!

Maui spent the day at the park. He was introduced to the e collar and we worked on recall and come to sit. He responded very well and picked up the collar right away. He ate all of his food and is very motivated. He was able to work around distractions at the park and have fun in the warm breeze.

Maui spent the day meeting some dogs and trying to stay cool. We worked on increasing duration sit and down as well as teaching place. He enjoyed meeting the new dogs. He was shy at first but came around after a bit. He ate all his food, even the extra.

Maui had a busy day today. He went to an outdoor mall to work around distractions and work on his loose leash walking. He made a new friend and they worked on duration down together. He worked on adding place objects to his belt in the evening when it was cooler and went for a walk in the neighborhood. He also worked on his door and crate manners. He did not want to eat much today but with this heat, I can't blame him. He did drink a lot of water and ate some of his food with some water on it.

Maui spent the day meeting new dogs and people. Worked on his greetings and loose leash walking. He also met some horses! He was very interested in their noises. He worked on place and door manners. He decided he was going to be picky with his food and only ate half of his meals.

Maui went to the beach today to work around people! He worked very hard to not jump and walk on a loose leash. He also worked on his door manners and his puppy push-ups. He ate more food today and even tried some coconut oil to entice him to eat. He prefers eating his food by hand. He was not a fan of adding water to his food or pumpkin. He did like it when we added his turkey snacks but only by hand-feeding, it all together. So we are making progress. He also worked on not demand barking when he wants to go in and out the door. He tried to offer every behavior he knew, paw included until he ultimately sat by the door which was the magic word.

Maui had an exciting day at home depot working on his off-leash skills. He worked on dropping the leash and adding place objects to his belt. He worked around a lot of distraction and not jumping on people. After a hard day's work, he relaxed in the yard with his toys, playing keep away and working on his off-leash recall. He also worked on not jumping and door manners. He is eating all of his food again and is definitely enjoying the hand feeding.

It was pretty hot outside today, so Maui did lots of shorter sessions with A/C time in between to keep nice and cool! We worked on his Heeling, Down, Recall, and Sit all with out any leash tension! Unfortunately there weren't as many people out to practice our greeting manners with, but we will find some tomorrow!

Maui worked his skills without any leash direction over at the Grove this morning! He was a little celebrity the whole time we were there. Everyone was complimenting him and talked about what a cute happy pup he is! We worked on how to greet and/or ignore strangers a ton. He had a couple moments where I knew he wanted to jump but he took my direction really well!

We went to the Huntington Beach Street fair! Mr. Maui did fantastic. We got to meet and practice greeting manners with tons of new two legged friends, not to mention practicing the rest of his commands with a super high level of distraction! He was a little nervous and a little squirrelly at first but was quickly gained his focus and was getting comments from all kinds of passersby. He also got to meet a couple new friends! He adjusted to playing with my pup Nico and a giant version of himself Ro. He does have a bit of a mounting habit, and while both the other dogs don't react to it at all its a good idea to prevent him from engaging in it as not all pups will be ok with it!

Maui did two really great sessions today! He spent the morning back at the Huntington Pier while it was nice and cool, took a nice long nap, and went back out to a shopping center in the late afternoon! He is such a happy guy and we did our second lesson today completely OffLeash! He even got to make a new human friend that he didn't even think about jumping on!

Maui is almost ready to film his final video! He did absolutely awesome in both his longer OffLeash sessions today. He responds incredibly well to excitement and positivity and has just come so far out of his shell with me over the last few days, he has become such a fun pup to take out with me! He drew a whole line of people who wanted to meet him today and he sat or lay while greeting all of them!
