Kobe| Belgian Malinois | Castiac, CA| In-Training

Meet Kobe, a 5 month old Belgian Malinois from Castiac, CA! He will he joining Offleash SoCal for a Two Week Board and Train Program. Kobe is the sweetest, most loving, curious pup who loves everything! Kobe can sometimes be vocal while out in public and loves to pick up things on the ground while on walks. During his stay, Kobe will be learning basic obedience, leash manners, and not pick random things up off the ground! Stay tuned for his progress!

Today we spent most of the time taking walks around the neighborhood because I wanted Kobe to get comfortable with me being around! He is such a sweet and goofy boy and we spent some time exploring a park near my house! He loved getting praise and attention during our walks and even sat a couple times without being asked! VERY SMART BOY! Tomorrow we will start introducing some of the commands, which I believe will be a breeze for him with how smart he is and eager to learn!

Today we started our morning with an early walk around the neighborhood. Once we got home, I started teaching the foundations for Heel, Sit, and Down! Since Kobe knows some of his commands, I started working on increasing his duration for Sit and Down! He did really awesome and was eager to learn the entire time! Later on we went to a park near by and introduced Place and Come! Kobe LOVES to work and learn new things! Afterwards, we relaxed on the grass and played around as-well! Good first day Kobe!!!

We started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood! We focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! Kobe is such an eager pup and was super excited to work! Later we went to the Janns Marketplace and worked on Heel, Sit, Come, Down, and Place! When he works, Kobe gets into a very focused mindset and becomes very ā€œseriousā€. While on Place he got up one time because I moved away from him but quickly got back into the command when reminded! Kobe is a very smart, eager, and goofy boy who absolutely thrives on working and learning new things!

Today Kobe and I started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood! During our walk we focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! Kobe was super eager to work this morning and had a lot of energy! Most of the time Kobe has his ears pinned back, which is very normal for working breeds such as Malinois. This just means he is focused and is working hard! Later, we went to Simi Valley Mall and had him work on Heel, Sit and Place while dragging the leash along! He did amazing and stayed very close to my leg and was very sharp with his commands! Kobe is making amazing progress and is loving the work!

Today we started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, and Come! Kobe has gotten really good with Heel and Sit and typically wonā€™t need any reminders! Later we went to Century City Mall and worked on Offleash Heel, Place, Sit, and Come! He did fantastic with his Heel and Sit commands! When we worked on Place and Down Kobe was a bit hesitant. I believe the reason he was unsure about Place might be due to him not really knowing his own body and capabilities due to his age! So we will be practicing that command quite a bit this coming week! So far Kobe is making awesome progress!

Today Kobe and I started the morning with an early structured work session around the neighborhood! We focused on Heel, Down, Come, and Sit! He is doing amazing with his commands and loves the work! Later in the day we went to the Mall and continued fine-tuning all that Kobe has learned so far! Once we got home, we worked on Door Manners because Kobe loves to go out of the house and work but gets to excited and tried to get through the door first! After about 20 minutes of working on this, Kobe was a lot calmer and waited to be released through the door! Very great work with Kobe today!

Kobe and I started the morning with an early walk to a park so that he could let out some of his puppy energy before we started working! Once we got to the park, I decided to let Kobe offleash because he was doing extremely well staying really close to me and not wondering off! We got to play with a ball for 20-30 minutes before heading back home to start working! I wanted to test out all his commands offleash so I worked him in-front of my place where there wasn't much vehicle traffic. We practiced Heel, Down, Come, Sit! He was fantastic with his commands and he was very attentive! When I saw him trying his hardest, I would reward him by letting him play afterwards! Itā€™s so important to have fun with Kobe during training sessions because he retains things at a higher level when he is enjoying the training! So far I am very proud of how fast Kobe is learning!

Today we had a very relaxed day because Kobe has been working extremely hard this past week! We did go on our daily morning structured walk offleash to work on strengthening Heel, Sit, Come, and Down. After getting back from the walk, Kobe and I had a play session in my yard and didnā€™t ask too much from him. I donā€™t want him thinking that life is work no play! He even got to play with my Malinois! After playing for about 30-40 minutes, Kobe and I relaxed inside and watched a movie while he stayed on Place! Later in the day we stopped by a mall to have a quick session working on Heel, Place, Down, and Come! He did fantastic and was super attentive! After we got back, I let Kobe go back to playing with my dog Max (Malinois). Kobe was super excited to run around and play chase! Kobe is doing amazing and is such a goofy puppy!

Today Kobe and I started the morning with an offleash structured walk around the neighborhood! We primarily focused on fine tuning his commands! He did very well and only made a minor mistake when he got up from his down. Later we went to Lowes and worked around louder distractions such as carts and big machinery! He did amazing and wasnā€™t fazed by the loud noises! Someone wanted to pet him while we were working on duration down. To make sure he didnā€™t choose to break the commands, I released him from down so he could greet the person! He stayed in a sit during his greeting and remained calm! Very proud if him today!

Today we had a relaxing training day! We started our day as usual, with a structured walk and worked on Heel, Down, Come, Place, and Sit! He did awesome and made only one mistake because he got too excited and got up from his down. Later we decided to go on an offleash hike near my house! We split the hike up into two parts. First half of the hike I let Kobe be offleash to work on some of his commands and the second part he stayed on a long line! He was so happy and loved exploring new environments! Later we went back to Lowes and worked on his commands!

Today we decided to have a relaxing day so that Kobe can recuperate from how hard Kobe has been working these two weeks! We started our day with a structured walk around the neighborhood and worked on Heel, Down, Come, and Place! Afterwards we went on a hike for an hour, so that Kobe can just be a puppy and run around! He loved being offleash and romping around! Once we got home, we worked on Food Manners since Kobe is so food motivated its very important for him to be respectful and patient when receiving his meals! Itā€™s super important for him to wait for his food. It took about 20 minutes for him to understand that being patient get him what he wants! He did very well and after dinner we went on another hike!
