Jetson, a three year old Shepherd Mix, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our three week board and train program. Jetson is a sweet boy, but is unsure of new people when first meeting. He knows commands but doesn’t follow if distracted, leash pulls on walks, and excessively barks. Over the next three weeks Jetson will be working on his off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress

Jetson has settled in well at my home. He was unsure of my pack when he first got here. He would growl if they came near him. I let him settle down in his pen for a little while then brought him back out with group. Towards the end of the night he became more social with them and was interested in playing.

Today Jetson and I went to the park to start his first day of training. I introduced and conditioned Jetson to the ecollar. We practiced commands Place, Sit, and Heel. Place is a command where Jetson must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching him to be calm and relaxed. Heel is still a work in progress, but he is walking much better now.
