Hazel is back with us for some boarding! It's very nice to have her back! We'll be taking care of her and continue to take her out in public for some extra exposure and fun!

When picking up Hazel, she was initially nervous around the park. When she saw my open car door, she immediately wanted to hop in and get going! I'm glad she remembered her car/crate manners, but we spent some time hanging out at the park. She did well with all of her commands, but a few things made her nervousness come out. A large group of school children started running and screaming around us, which she wasn't a fan of, but she did fine. The thing that freaked her out the most was a drone buzzing around, which I believe you can see in one of her pictures.

Back at home, Hazel is settling in again, and she seems happy to be back!

Hazel and I went to Garfield Park today! It was cloudy and gloomy so there were very few other dogs or distractions around, but the few we came across we passed without issue. It's important to note, I often use the Off command preemptively as soon as I see her notice a distraction. This way her attention comes back to me and the Heel before she gets too invested in the distraction. Use the E collar at a low level, when first trying to draw her attention away from the distraction. Increase the dial slowly each time you have to ask for Off and she continues to stare at the distraction. Don't give up if she stays glued to the distraction, even if you need to change the direction of the Heel a few times to give her brain something else to do aside from staring at the distraction. She had a fun and successful day today!

Hazel and I went to Almansor Park today! She was on her best behavior, and we didn't run into any issues, other than the wind. It was extremely windy at times, and neither of us liked that very much. She persevered, and we ended up having a fun day. We didn't run into very many dogs or distractions, other than the geese, but she did totally fine around the geese.
