Meet Harley! She is a 15-month-old Shepherd mix from Santa Monica CA. Harley is energetic, loves to play, and loves to snuggle! She comes to our Two Week Board and Train Program to work on her On-leash manners, Off-leash manners, Greeting manners, Car manners, Door manners, and food manners. Another concern we will work on is excessive barking towards other people and dogs. Stay tuned for her 2-week transformation! ____________________________________________

One of today’s sessions took place at the park. This was our first day of training together. I made it a priority to win over Harley’s love and trust. She was a little distant at first, but soon warmed up to me. Training then became fun and productive!

One of Harley’s sessions took place at the park today. I’ve really put a lot of time and energy into building up her confidence and our bond as a partnership. Today I challenged Harley with some off-leash obedience. Her impulse control has gotten much better and she’s really coming out of her shell. This session we focused on her Heeling, Placing, and Extended sitting on and off-leash. We worked in a low distraction environment for this session as we continue building a strong foundation in her obedience. She did very well. Another great day of training!

One of Harley’s sessions took place at a new park. In this session we continued to challenge her impulse control by working on all learned commands in a busy and new environment. I added longer hold times and created greater distance. Harley never broke command regardless the distance even though I could see she was getting uncomfortable. One of Harley’s sessions focused on Door manners. It is important for her to understand the importance of Door manners and how rushing out the front door could be a major safety risk. During this session, I had her at an Extended sit working on her impulse control, focus, and obedience. She did very well staying in command. Another great day of training!

Each command was done near areas where soccer and baseball practice were taking place. Harley did not show much interest to all the distractions around us. She stayed focused on me, stay in command, and seems to always be eager to train. Another great day of training!
