Pupdates:
Chloe, a one year old Beagle, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Chloe comes to us knowing her commands, but only listening if treats are involved or if she isn’t distracted. She doesn’t have a solid recall, chews and destroys things in the home, and pulls on walks. Over the next week Chloe will be working on her on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress.

Chloe is settling in well at my home. She got to meet a few of the pack members. She made friends with Winnie, the Great Dane puppy. They have been running around and playing nonstop since she has arrived.

Today Chloe and I trained at home. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit, Place, Down and Heel. She did very well and caught on quickly to her commands. She can be a stubborn when she wants to. She did the Down command perfectly when a treat was involved, but when i didn’t have one she gave me a little bit of a struggle.

Today Chloe and I went down to the beach to work on her commands around distractions. It was quite busy down at the beach, Chloe had plenty of distractions to work around. She was definitely overwhelmed and distracted when we first arrived, but as we walked around and trained, she was able to settle down and focus on her commands. She did very well passing by people and dog distractions. Started working on her duration, having her hold her commands longer. We are getting better with the down command, she didn’t give me too much of a struggle today. We will continue to practice and improve, but not bad for her second day of training.

Happy New Year! Today Chloe and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We met with another OffLeash SoCal trainer and his dog, so she had other dog distractions to work around. She did a great job! She was focused and obedient. At home we worked on her Out command. Out is for when she has something in her mouth that we want her to drop. Chloe caught on very quickly to the new command.

Today Chloe and I went to the mall to work on her obedience around distractions. She did very well with all the people distractions. We had a few dogs that barked us, but Chloe ignored them and stayed focused on her training. At home we worked more on her ‘Out’ command. We practiced her food manners, teaching Chloe to wait patiently until given permission to eat. We also practiced her door manners, teaching her to not pass thresholds until given permission. Chloe has done an awesome job with her training! She can’t wait to go home tomorrow and show you everything she has learned!
