Freebee, a one year old German Shepherd, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. Freebee comes to us with lack of following commands when distracted, not walking properly on leash, leash reactivity, and jumping to greet. Over the two weeks Freebee will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!

Freebee is setting in well at my home. She is getting aquatinted with all her new friends. She was a bit nervous when she first met everyone, but now she has warmed up to them and is socializing. I tried to get her weight, but she was too scared to hop up on the scale.

Today Freebee and I went to the park to work on her commands. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Come to Sit and Heel. We need to work on her focus since she more interested in everything around us rather than paying attention to me. Heel is still a work in progress but Freebee is walking closer to my side now. Great first day of training!

Today Freebee and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced two new commands: Come to Heel And Place. After learning the Place command, I was able to get Freebee onto the scale to weigh her. She’s a smart girl and doing great with her training!

Today Freebee and I went to the park to work on her obedience around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Freebee was able to practice around plenty of dog distractions. She was hesitant around them, but not reactive. We also worked on a new command, Down. Freebee did great today!

Today Freebee and I went to Lowes to work on her commands around distractions and out of the heat. She was a bit distracted when we first got there, but as we walked around she started to settle down and focus on her commands. We worked on her distance and duration (holding commands longer). Freebee did a great job today!

Today Freebee and I went to the Citadel to work on her obedience around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Freebee practiced around plenty of dog distractions. She did pretty well today. She was slightly distracted by her surroundings, but was still able to focus on me and her commands.

Today Freebee and I went to The Block at Orange to work on her commands around distractions. She did well around the people distractions. We only had one incident where Freebee was reactive towards another dog, but stopped immediately when a corrected her.

Today Freebee and I went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced her commands semi-off leash today. I let her drag the leash around while we worked. She did pretty well. We need to tighten up a few of her commands before she can be completely off leash.
