Meet Elton! Elton is a One Year old Goldendoodle from Venice, CA and he is joining us for our Three Week Board and Train Program. Elton needs help with basic obedience since he tends to pull heavily on leash and barks at passing people. Elton also tends to lunge and bark at passing dogs, cars and skateboards. Elton needs help working on his manners at home and needs help working on being neutral around other dogs. Overall, he is a good boy who is ready to learn! Check out his 21 day transformation.

Elton and I spent the day getting to know each other. Upon reaching my home Elton was very timid and unsure. We worked on getting him used to leash pressure since he was only used to working with a harness. Elton was able to get accustomed to his new environment but he’s still very timid and shy. We started introducing the e-collar and he did great pairing the collar with the command. Overall, Elton did a great job today! I left his dinner in his kennel so he can get the opportunity to eat it when he likes.

Elton and I worked on his heel today as well as getting him used to the e-collar some more. Elton is slowly coming out of his shell with me today since was definitely a lot more timid and shy yesterday. He is still a bit timid at times especially when there’s any leash pressure added. Elton struggled a bit with his heel since he kept trying to pull me and change directions. After some time of working on it he was able to get the hang of it. We introduced come to sit today as well and he did well. He was confused as to what I was asking him to do but did a great job overall once he was able to get the routine down. Elton is such a good boy and is doing great in the kennel.

Elton and I spent the day working on his heel, come to sit and place. He didn’t understand what to do for place and struggles in the leash for a bit whenever he didn’t want to do something. Elton would also resort to biting on the leash when he wanted to go a different direction or didn’t want to walk anymore. Elton is slowly getting the hang of heel but still needs to work on staying next to me since his speeds change depending on the amount of distractions that are around. Overall, Elton did a great job and is slowly coming out of his shell.

Today Elton and I worked on his down. He was struggling getting into a down but was able to pick it up after some time. I went ahead and added the turkey into his meal and he is so much happier! He ate all of his dinner. He is getting better with his heel but definitely needs more work around higher distraction areas! Overall, Elton is doing so much better today!

Elton and I worked on his heel and his come to sit at Petsmart today! He didn’t want to go into a down in the beginning but after some time was able to do it no problem. He was a bit excited when we first got to the store and wanted to walk up to everyone. After some time he relaxed and was able to do his commands. Elton struggles with his heel since at times he’ll lag behind me. Overall, he did amazing and took his heart medication with a treat! He did get a bit wet today since it was raining but Elton has been doing amazing in the kennel.

Elton and I spent the day working on all of his commands. We focused primarily on his down since he still struggles going into a down. Elton did have runny stool today so he was let out frequently. I went ahead and added pumpkin purée to his dinner and he seemed to like it. He didn’t have a big appetite today so I made sure to offer him his food throughout the day as well as leaving it in his kennel while he rested.

Elton and I spent the day working on all of his commands at a nearby park. He was a bit distracted by all of the children playing on the play ground and the basketball players. He did great but definitely still struggles with his down. He does great going in a down in my home but struggles when out in public. Elton and I also worked on his come to sit since he stops short at times and doesn’t make the effort to completely come around by back. Elton’s tummy is feeling a lot better today and he ate a lot more of his food today.

Elton and I went to Lowe’s today. He did such a great job but struggled every time we went through the automatic doors. He would want to rush through any door and at times would lay down to refuse moving. We worked on his down and he was definitely getting a lot better but still struggles if there are a lot of distractions. Elton did great with his place and his heel but had his moments when he didn’t want to do his commands. When we went home we made sure to really focus on his door manners since he has been wanting to run through the door to rush outside. This is also the case when it comes to consign out of his kennel or going in. We worked on his extended sit with his door manners and he did great! After a couple of minutes he understood what to do. Elton did have a little more of an appetite today since he didn’t have an upset tummy anymore. He did such a great job!

Elton and I went to William Peak Park to work on all of his commands! He worked around other dogs and trainers today and did amazing. We worked on his extended sit and down which he is getting much better at. He was a bit excited because of all the other dogs but was able to relax after some time. Elton is also getting better at his load up. At times Elton will just stop and refuse to jump up in the car but he tried his best today! Overall, he did a great job!

Elton and I spent time working on all of his commands! He is doing such a great job with his come to sit and down and needs minimal leash pressure. We made sure to work with a very loose leash today and he picked everything up really well. We introduced under and Elton did struggle with this command at first but was able to get the hang of it once we worked with my dining room chairs! Elton enjoyed some play time with his new buddy Mia and was able to roam my home with her. Overall, he is doing a great job!

Elton and I worked on all of his commands today at a local park. Elton struggled a bit with his under but did a great job once we practiced some more. He was a bit confused between place and under but once we worked on each command’s separately he was able to get the hang of it. Elton is doing such a great job and is picking up his commands quickly! Overall, he is such a good boy.

Elton and I went to Fashion Island to work on all of his commands around other pups and their trainers! He did a great job but still tends to lag behind me when we’re walking. He is doing so much better with distractions but is still interested in strollers when they walk by! We worked on Elton’s under today and he did such a good job. He was able to get what I was asking him to do. Elton is improving on his durations and isn’t interested in many dogs as they pass him. Overall, Elton is a good boy!

Elton and I went to Lowe’s today to work on all of his commands. He did such a great job with all of the people and the shopping carts. We’re working on come to heel and he is picking it up slowly! Elton did enjoy some play time today in my home before dinner. Elton his have a bit of an upset tummy so I have him his powder packet in his kibble along with a little bit of pumpkin purée. He is such a good boy!

Elton and I went to Citadel Outlets to work on all of his commands today. We worked on his duration on his place and his down command. He did a great job but was a bit nervous at the amount of people that passed him. After some time he was able to get the hang of everything. Elton also worked on his greeting manners today and he was able to hold a sit while people pet him. He did such a great job today and is improving every day!

Elton and I went to Heritage Park to work on all of his commands off leash! Elton did such a great job but did bark at a squirrel. Elton has gotten a lot more confident with his under and his place. He still tends to lag behind me while we’re walking but with some encouragement he does catch up! Elton enjoyed some play time at the park. Elton is such a good boy and has picked everything up nicely!

Elton and I spent some time working on all of his commands off leash! He did such a great job but was a bit excited to see all the trainers and their pups today! After some time Elton was able to relax and did great when working on all of his commands. Elton is such a good boy but is still having trouble loading up in the car kennel. He doesn’t make the effort to jump up and instead will just put his front paws up. Overall, Elton did a great job!

Elton and I went to Petsmart to work on all of his commands! He did such a great job ignoring distractions and was very excited when we walked into the store. Elton did have a bit of trouble placing on the bag of cat food and was a little wary of the texture but after some time working on it he did great! Elton also worked on his greeting manners and was really happy to say hello to people!

Elton and I worked on all of his commands off leash! We worked on all of his home manners and he was able to play with his bestie, Mia! Elton enjoyed chewing on his plastic bone and spent time lounging in my home! Elton did have runny stool today so I made sure to add the probiotic packet to his food! Overall, Elton was a good boy!

Elton and I went to Lowe’s to work on all of his commands off leash! He did a great job but had a bit of trouble walking next to certain items such as metal fences. After some time Elton was able to get the hang of it! Overall, he did a great job!

Elton and I went to Santa Monica pier where he was able to work off leash around distractions. He did such a great job with all of the bikes and skateboard and did amazing when greeting new people! Overall, Elton was such a good boy and enjoyed some play time before bed!

Elton and I worked on all of his commands off leash today! He had plenty of time to run around a local park and work on his home manners. Elton is such a good boy and is doing amazing with everything he has learned. Here is a small clip of Elton’s final video! He can’t wait to show you all that he’s learned!
