Meet Elton the 11 month old French Bulldog from Laguna Beach! He's joining us for a 2 Week Board and Train to work on his door dashing, separation anxiety which causes some destructive chewing, and recall! He is a lover not a fighter and just needs to learn how to greet with out jumping. He is a super sweet boy who wants all the snuggles so watch him as he learns the ropes and steals the hearts of those he meets over the never two weeks!
Pupdate 09/19/21
Elton spent his first day getting to know his new surroundings and meeting the neighbors on our walk. He is definitely not a fan of a collar on his neck but he seemed to be distracted enough by the walk to only buck like a horse when we would stop walking. He did great on the car ride home but he was not a fan of being in the crate at home he makes very interesting noises. He ate most of his food but was not very hungry due to the added stress however that is very normal and it's great he ate at all the first day!

Elton had a big day going to the park and working around distractions other people and dogs. He was very distracted but he started to get the hang of the collar as we worked on recall. He also worked on sit and his manners. He still is not a fan of anything on his neck which is very normal for dogs that haven't worn collars before but he's slowly getting used to it. He is not a fan of the crate but slept through the night. He only cries when he's in there during the day or when another dog is out working, but again it's very normal when pups aren't used up the crate and he will soon love it! Today he ate all his food, yay!

Elton spent the day avoiding the heat! He went to some pet stores to work around distractions. He met lots of new people and was able to work on polite greetings and no jumping. He also got to work on ignoring other dogs walking by and cats! He added some interesting place objects to his belt and worked on loose leash walking.

Elton went to the park today to work on his loose leash walking. He also worked on his manners and adding duration to his commands. He is getting better at auto sitting before the door opens. He also worked on place for an entire episode of Dexter!

Elton spent the day adding place objects and distance to his place command. We discovered he is not a fan of skateboards. He worked on his greeting manners and lost leash walking.

Elton worked on his manners today. He worked on not jumping up and his door manners. He really likes his crate now and is adding distance to how far he will be to go inside.
Pupdate 9/25/21
Elton spent his day at the park. He worked on duration place and recall with distractions. He made some new friends while working on his greeting manners. He even got to see geese, he was very interested in them.

Elton met lots of new people today. He got to work on his loose leash walking and heeling around the neighborhood. He spent his evening at the beach working on greetings and adding distance and duration to his place. He is getting better at not trying to jump on people first now we are moving to staying seated with out scooting.

Elton spent the day at the park working around other dogs. He worked on his recall and duration place. He also worked on his down command and recall from the crate and place objects. He is eating all his food and liking his chews.
Pupdate 9/28/21
Since it was my first day meeting and working with Elton, I wanted to make sure he felt comfortable with me, so we spend some time relaxing on the grass at Charles H. Wilson Park and hanging out! He is such a goofy boy and absolutely loves belly rubs! After some quality time together, we did some training, which consisted of Heel, Come, and Sit! He is very motivated during training and adores praise! Later in the day we practiced Place while I cleaned my house, which was great for him to practice impulse control and remain calm and relaxed! After we practiced that for a bit, I let him hang out with me while we watched a movie together! Great progress with Elton today!

(insert pics here) Today Elton and I went to the Westfield Mall and worked on Place, Come, and Down! During our session we also practiced staying calm in high traffic areas! He did really well and remained in a relaxed sit! Afterwards we went home and worked on Door Manners and Place! Once we got done with training, we spent some time hanging out in my office while I got some work done! Elton is such a good boy and very smart!

Today Elton and I went to Sherman Oaks Gallaria and worked on Place, Down, and Heel! During our session we also practiced staying in a duration Down while out in public! He did really well and remained in his command! Afterwards we went home and continued working on Place! Once we got done with training, we spent some time hanging. Elton was such a good boy today!

Today Elton and I went to Century City Mall and worked on all of Elton's commands in a higher distracting location! He super awesome with all of his duration work and his heel was very tight! After working for a bit, we went home and kept working on Door Manners! He did really good with that and got to relax afterwards! Good job Elton!
Pupdate 10/2/21
Today Elton and I kept practicing Food Manners, Door Manners, Come, and Down! He was such a good boy and very happy go lucky! We also took a couple walks around the neighborhood to let him stretch his legs and enjoy the outdoors! Once it got a little later in the day we went to Lowes and worked on finalizing the rest of Elton's commands! He can't wait to show his mom what he has learned tomorrow!
