Drax and I spent time getting to know each other today! He is such a sweet boy but was a little timid at first. He did great adjusting to his kennel and was able to explore his new environment. We had our first lesson today where we worked on getting used to the e-collar. He was a little hesitant at first but got the hang of it quickly. We worked on his ‘heel’ today. He did pull me but was doing much better by the end of our training today. He ate only half of his dinner.

Drax and I went to a local park where we worked on ‘heel’ and ‘place’ today! He is doing really well with his ‘sit’ and his ‘down’ but struggles holding them for long periods of time. We’re slowly working on having him be more comfortable around loud noises and passing dogs. He did such a good job today and was a lot more comfortable with me today. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Drax went to Wilderness Park to work on his ‘heel’ and ‘come to sit’. He was a little overwhelmed in the beginning and wanted to smell everything. There we a couple of ducks that caught his attention and it did take a bit to get his focus back. He is doing really well with his heel and isn’t pulling as much as he used to. He does want to switch from side to side at time or cross right in front of me. We’re working on getting him to heel closer to me since he strays a bit far away. We ended the day by introducing ‘place’! He is being such a good boy and is doing really well so far. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and went potty like normal.

Drax and I worked on his ‘come to sit’ and ‘place’ today at a local park! He is doing such a great job. He is getting a lot better at his heel but still struggles with staying close to me. He is slowly improving. He did get a bit spooked by some who made loud banging noises with metal but he quickly recovered. We’re slowly introducing his ‘durations’ and he is doing really good with it. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and had plenty of water today.

Drax worked on all of his commands at my home today since it was a bit hot out! He worked on his ‘heel’ around my neighborhood and his ‘come to sit’. He is such a good boy and is learning quickly. Drax worked on all of his commands at Santa Monica Promenade. He was a bit timid at first and was really hesitant to be around a lot of people and dogs. He is slowly getting better with his ‘heel’ but still strays away from my side. He responds really well to the e-collar but prefers his space when he walks next to me. He is getting a lot better at his ‘come to sit’ but struggles in the beginning. Once we warm up he does a lot better. His ‘extended down’ is one of his favorite commands. He is doing a great job at ignoring other dogs and people. He will at times go into a ‘down’ from a ‘sit’ so we’re working on having him stay in a sitting position. Overall, Drax is being a good boy and is learning so much.

Drax worked on all of his commands with a very loose leash today. We got a lot of progress done on his ‘heel’ and he was able to walk right next to me. In the beginning he still didn’t want to be as close but by the end of our session he was a lot closer than before. He also did some ‘heeling’ with the leash dragging on the floor. I didn’t hold onto the leash at all and he did amazing ‘heeling’ next to me. There were a couple of times when he would lag behind but after a couple of encouragement he was able to catch up. He worked on his ‘come to sit’ today as well. He still needed some leash guidance in the beginning but by the end he was able to do it with the leash dragging on the floor. Drax will try and test me at times so he will try and take a short cut with his ‘come to sit’. He will want to either sit on my right side or sit behind me. After a bit of letting him figure it out he was able to do it correctly. Overall, Drax is being such a good boy and improved so much!

Drax and I worked on all of his commands off leash today! He did really well sticking my by side and didn’t veer off as much as he used to. He is getting a lot more comfortable ’heeling’ and staying focused. He will try to lag behind or walk a little too far ahead but after a couple of corrections he stays at my pace. Drax is also doing a lot better with his ‘come to sit’. He doesn’t need leash guidance to lead him into the correct spot but will at times stop short. I take a few steps back and let him think it through. After a couple of tires, he does a great job! He is getting really good at his ‘extended sit’ and ‘down’! He doesn’t try to ‘down’ as much as he used to when in a ‘sitting’ position. He did run into some challenges today around my neighborhood. He was a bit spooked by a couple of cats that ran by or dogs that were barking in the distance. He did a great job staying by my side but would stop a bit when he got timid. His ‘door manners’ are also coming along great! He doesn’t want to rush out of the door and will wait patiently before going outside. Overall, Drax is a good boy! He ended the day with well deserved play time and a treat. He is drinking plenty of water and is eating all of his breakfast and dinner.

Drax and I went to Wilderness Park to work on all of his commands off leash. There were a lot of ducks and children that really caught Drax’s attention in the beginning. After warming up to his new surroundings he was a lot more comfortable and focused. His ‘heel’ is a lot better but he still struggles walking super close to me. We worked a lot on having him ignore passing ducks and worked on getting him more comfortable walking beside me off leash. He is doing great and is picking up on everything quickly! He was really interested in the water but didn’t make an effort to walk over to it. His ‘come to sit’ is coming along great! He fixes himself in the correct position and has improved a lot. We also worked on his extended commands such as ‘place’, ‘sit’ and ‘down’. He doesn’t try to go into an ‘down’ from a ‘sit’ anymore which is great. Overall, Drax is being such a good boy and is learning so much. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and went potty like normal. He enjoyed some off leash play time at the park as well.
