Coyote | Doberman Pinscher | Hermosa Beach, CA | In-Training

Coyote, a one year old Doberman Pinscher, is back with OffLeash SoCal for our Two Week Board and Train program. She is back to advance her obedience to off leash. She is giving her owners a hard time with recall, leash reactivity, and excessive barking. Check in to see her progress!

Coyote is settling in well at my home. She was happy to see her old friends, as well as making some new ones. She also remembered where her sun bathing chair is in the backyard.

Today Coyote and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We practiced all her commands. For the most part, Coyote does pretty well. She knows all the commands I taught her. I noticed she’s a little nervous trying to place on new objects. She is easily excitable and will break command, so we need to work on her duration.

Today Coyote and I went to The Citadel Outlet to work on commands around distractions. She did actually pretty well. She was a little distracted but was still able to focus on her commands. She saw other dogs and did fine around them. Coyote would look, but still had her focus on me.

Today Coyote and I went to the park to work on her commands around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Coyote was able to practice around plenty of dog distractions. I had one of our other trainers work with Coyote. Coyote was being a little stubborn with her in the beginning, but then started obeying after. Coyote was definitely interested in the other dogs, but still followed through with her commands.

Today Coyote and I went to the park to work on her obedience. We worked on her duration and distance. She did better with less distractions around and was more focused on me.

Today Coyote and I went to Lowes to work on her obedience around distractions and out of the heat. We practiced her commands semi-off leash. I let her drag the leash around while we practiced. She did very well! The only thing she was nervous about was getting on to the wobbly carts.

Today Coyote and I went to The Block at Orange to work on her commands around distractions. Coyote worked with one our new trainers. She did pretty well with him. She did try to test and see what she could get away with him, but she ended up listening to the trainer and worked semi-off leash.

Today Coyote and her friends, Waverly and Mango, joined me on a shopping spree at Cerritos Mall. It was very busy and Coyote was a little nervous with the crowd, but she was still able to follow her commands. She had to have a leash on, but she did all her commands without me having to hold onto it. She did an awesome job!

Today Coyote and I went to The Citadel Outlet to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She did very well with her commands. The only thing we had trouble with is her sitting still to be pet. She wanted to get up and give kisses to everyone that pet her.

Today Coyote and I went back to Huntington Beach to work on her off leash obedience around distractions. She was a little nervous today; there was a lot going on at The beach. They were setting up a carnival area and getting Main St. ready for Fourth of July. As we walked around she was able to relax and focus on her commands.

Today I took Coyote and her friend, Freebee, to Santa Monica Pier to work on their off leash commands around distractions. She wasn’t a big fan of the rollercoasters and wanted to stay away from them. After walking around for awhile she was able to relax and focus on her commands. Coyote had a few admirers who watched us while we trained. She even had a photographer come up and ask to take pictures of her while she was training.
