Coyote | Doberman Pinscher | Hermosa Beach, CA | In-Training
Coyote, a one year old Doberman Pinscher, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our One Week Board and Train program. Coyote comes to us with lack of following commands when distracted, leash pulling, jumping to greet, and excessive barking. Over the next week Coyote will be working on her on leash obedience and manners. Check in to see her progress!
Happy Easter! Coyote has settled in well at my home. She is enjoying hanging out with all her new friends.
Today Coyote and I worked on her training at home. I introduced and conditioned her to the ecollar. We practiced commands Sit and Place. Place is a command where Coyote must sit or lay on a defined object. This command is great for building confidence as well as teaching her to be calm and relaxed. She did great on her first day of training!
Happy Birthday Coyote! Today we went to the park to work on her commands. We practiced a new command, Heel. Typically the Heel would be on my left side, but since she doesn’t have her right eye it was a little hard for her to see when I would turn or change directions. So, I put her on my right side and that seemed to work better for her.
Today Coyote and I went to the park to work on her obedience commands. We practiced three new commands: Come to Sit, Come to Heel, and Down. Coyote did very well and caught on to these commands quickly. We need to practice a little more on her duration (holding commands longer), but she did a great job today!
Today I took Coyote to The Citadel Outlet to work on her obedience around distractions. We met with other OffLeash SoCal trainers and their pups, so Coyote got to practice around other dog distractions. She did very well! She wasn‘t reactive towards the dogs. She stayed focused and obedient.
Today Coyote and her friend, Ginger, joined me on a shopping spree at The Block at Orange. Coyote did a very good job around all the people distractions, even with a little dog that was yapping at her. She was very focused and obedient.
Today Coyote and I worked on her obedience at home. I gave her a bath so she’s nice and clean when she sees you. She enjoyed running around and playing with her friends before she leaves. Coyote can’t wait to go home and show you everything she has learned!
