Rhodesian Ridgeback - Dog Training | Cooper | La Habra Heights, CA

Cooper, a Rhodesian Ridgeback from La Habra Heights, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal Board & Train dog training program. Cooper was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, CA.

Cooper, a 3 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our 2 weekboard and train program. Cooper is a sweet and energetic boy who comes to us with typical puppy behavior: little knowledge of commands, leash pulling, jumping to greet, barking, etc. Over the next 2 weeks Cooper will be working on his off leash obedience and manner. Check in to see his progress!

Today I introduced and conditioned Cooper to the ecollar. We practiced commands come, sit, and place. Place is a command where Cooper has to sit or lay on an object. This co is great for building confidence as well as teaching Cooper to be calm and relaxed.

Today Cooper and I went to the park to work on commands. We practiced come to sit and place. We started working on the heel command. Still a work in progress, but Cooper is walking a lot better now.

Back to the park again, to work on commands. Today Cooper learned a new command, Down.

Today we stayed home for training. Cooper practiced all his commands: come to sit, down, place, and heel. Now we are starting to work on his duration (holding commands longer). Tonight he got to eat together with the pack. While I prepare their meal, they all must wait patiently. They all have to wait their turn to eat. No one is allowed to go eat out of another dogs bowl. Once they are done eating, they must sit and wait for the rest to finish or walk away. This teaches Cooper to 1. be calm and patient 2. boundaries and 3. respect for the other pack members.

Cooper and his friends joined me on a shopping spree at The Citadel Outlets. Cooper did very well with his obedience even with all the distractions around.

Today we stayed home for training. Cooper practiced all his obedience commands. After training, I took Cooper and his friends on a hike. I dropped the leash and let him wander around. He stayed close to me the entire time, in like his friends who would run ahead. He had a blast!

Today Cooper and I went to the park to work on his off leash obedience. He is doing a great job with commands and obeys the first time I ask. After training, I took Cooper and his girlfriend, Mary, to my family's restaurant for lunch where they practiced their duration down command.

Cooper and his buddy, Orzo, working on their obedience at The Block at Orange. Since he was such a good boy and did a great job with his commands, Cooper got a little frozen yogurt treat.

Today Cooper took the day off training and enjoyed the day hanging out with his friends. I gave him a bath, but he didn’t stay clean for long. Cooper has done a great job with his training! He can’t wait to go home and show you all he has learned.
