CJ | American Pit Bull Terrier | Norwalk, CA | In-Training

CJ, a 5 month old American Pit Bill Terrier, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our three week board and train program. CJ is a very sweet and loving boy. He comes to us with typical puppy behavior: being easily distracted, mouthy, timid of new areas, having potty accidents in the house, etc. over the next three weeks CJ will be working on his off leash obedience and manners. Check in to see his progress!

Happy Memorial Day! Today CJ and I went to the park to start his first day of training. I introduced and conditioned him to the ecollar. He knows most of his commands already, so we worked mostly on his heel command. Still a work in progress but CJ did an awesome job on his first day!

Today CJ and I went back to the park to work on his commands. He was being a little stubborn today and didn't want to listen, but I was more stubborn and made sure he followed through with what I was asking on him. We worked more on the heel command and he getting better at that.

My apologies for the delay in updates, I was having trouble with uploading videos to the link. Today CJ and I met up with the other OffLeash SoCal trainers at the Block at Orange. CJ got to work on his commands around high distractions. He was a bit excitable at first, but he calmed down and started following commands as we walked around. Natalie, in the video, is one of our new trainees and I let her do some work with CJ. He did great and followed her commands. d

Today we stayed home for training. CJ worked on all his commands. He is doing well, we just need more work on getting CJ to hold commands longer. He gets bored of staying still and wants to get up to do something else. We will get there, so far he is doing a great job!

Today CJ and I stayed home for training. We started working on come to sit, incorporating the wheelchair. I am teaching CJ to come to the left and pivot around and sit. It’s not perfect yet, I am very impressed with how fast of a learner he is!

Today CJ and I went to the park to work on his commands. We are working on his duration, making him hold the commands longer. CJ is doing well and getting better at it. We worked more on come to sit, with the wheelchair, at home. CJ still gets distracted when seeing other dogs, but once I correct him he looks away and focuses back on me.

Today CJ and I worked on his commands at a local shopping center. We are getting closer to being off leash! Today i let Cj drag the leash around while we walked and practiced some of his commands. CJ learned a new command, Under. He is doing very well, just need to work on his focus. He stays in commands but will look away or focus on a distraction passing by.
