Meet Chips, a 5 month old German Shepherd/ Husky mix from Whittier, CA! He will be joining us for our Three Week Puppy Board and Train Program. Chips is a very sweet, playful, and goofy boy who is full of energy! Chips has not had a lot of exposure to the outside world and is still learning how to walk on a leash! During his training period, Chips will be learning Leash Manners, Basic Obedience, and exposing him to the world! Stay tuned for his Three Week Transformation!

On our drive home Chips was very quiet and slept most of the time! He did get car sick and puked a little bit due to the long drive. Chips didnāt seem to phased by getting sick and was his happy, jumpy, playful pup once we arrived! After giving him some time to decompress, we took a walk around the neighborhood so that he could get acclimated to my place and my area! He was very curious and wanted to smell every part of the park! He also wasnāt too bothered by the leash and enjoyed exploring the area! Since he itās his first half day, I will be starting his training tomorrow because I want to make sure Chips is adjusting well! So far he so good!

Today Chips and I started our morning with a walk around the neighborhood and start shaping Heel. Since he hasnāt been walking very much, Chips was not sure how to walk without stumbling behind my feet or swerving between my legs. We walked around for about 15-20 minutes and just letting him figure himself out. Later on we went to a quiet park to start working on teaching Place and Come! During place, I had to help guide him into a sit with my hand. He did very well and is slowly figuring out what to do! So far a very good start to his first day of training!

This morning Chips had an accident in his crate. I took him out every 1-2 hours to try and get him to go relieve himself but he would go. I gave him a bath and cleaned him up before going on our walk around the neighborhood. While we were out, we practiced Heel, Sit, and Come. He is still having a hard time figuring out how to walk on a leash but is quickly learning to stay on my left side! Later we went to a park and continued working on Heel, Come, and Place! He is very smart but he lets his stubborn side of him take control. Once we got done training, Chips and I spent some time playing around on the grass. Itās super important for Chips to have moments to relax and enjoy his puppy time!

Today we started our morning with a walk around the neighborhood and practiced Heel, Down, Come, and place! He is doing a lot better with his Sit and Come but has a bit of a hard time with heel. He will walk really good for a few minutes and then forget how to walk properly. In the afternoon, we went to a park and continued working on Down, Sit, Come, and Heel. He was a bit rambunctious during our session at the park and just wanted to goof off! Once we got home we introduced Door Manners and he picked it up very quickly!

Today we started our morning with an early walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! He is doing so much better with his heel but has moments where he goofs up! His Sit command is super sharp and he will stay for about 3-5 minutes before he gets bored and breaks the command. Later we went to Balboa Park and worked on Heel, Place, Down, Come, and Sit! He even got to play with another trainers puppy and really enjoyed the time!

Today Chips and I started the morning with a structured walk and focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! He has been doing amazing with his heel and is more aware of where we are walking! Chips has gotten also better at Sit and will 90% of the time perform without any reminders! Later we went to Janns Marketplace and focused on Heel, Place, Come, and Down! He did fairly well with most of his commands even with a bit of distractions! When we worked on Down, Chips had a hard time going into the command and remaining in it. We will be focusing this week on his Down command and Duration work for each command! So far, very good day!

Today Chips and I started our morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and practiced Heel, Down, Come, and Sit! Chips is doing so much better with walking right next to me instead of swerving around! His sit is fantastic and he rarely needs to be told twice to do the command! We are still working on his Come because he will come halfway to me and just put on his breaks instead of coming around. Later on Chips and I went to Lake Balboa and focused primarily on Come and Down! He is a bit stubborn when working on his Down command because he isn't quite understanding that leash pressure down means he should follow it and lay down. We will be focusing on that this coming week!

Today Chips and I started the morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, Come! He was very energetic while training and was very engaged! We later went to the Simi Valley Mall and focused on Heel, Down, Come, and Place! Chips has come such a long way with his heel and will walk very nicely next to you! He did get a bit excited during his Place command and got up a few times but quickly corrected himself when reminded! His down is still a work in progress because he gets a bit too excited and will get up and try to play. Other than that, Chips is doing really awesome and is enjoying learning new things!

Today Chips and I started the day with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on Heel, Sit, Come, and Down! He did very well with all his commands but is still struggling to go into a down. Once he is in the down he does very well remaining but getting into it is a bit of a struggle. Later we went to an outdoor mall and continued working with all of his commands! He did very well but again struggled with Down. We will be working on that command tomorrow throughout the day!

We started the morning with a structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on all the commands Chips knows so far! He did very well and was super energetic! Later in the day we stayed home and focused on his Down command. He is still struggling performing the down command on the floor. I had him practice the command on an elevated dog bed to see if that helped and it did. So I will be continuing to practice that this week!

Today Chips and I started the morning with a walk around the neighborhood and focused on Down, Sit, Come, and Heel! He did very well with all of his commands except Down. He is understanding the command if he is put on an elevated object but is taking a bit longer to understand when on the ground. Later in the day Chips and I took a trip to REI and practiced his commands in a semi populated location! He was very excited and eager to explore and train! He did fantastic with all of his commands including Down! Any time I put him on place and told him ādownā he would quickly go into the command. Itās a slow process with his down, but he is making baby steps in the right direction.

Today we started with our structured walk around the neighborhood and continued working on all of Chipsās commands! He was very energetic this morning and was super eager to work! Later in the day, we met up with another trainer and worked on Greeting Manners because he gets a bit too excited! During our session, Chips stayed calm while the other trainer greeted him! After he did well with that, I let him have a quick play session with my personal dog!

Today we started the morning with our usual structured walk around the neighborhood and focused on all of his commands! He was very energetic and playful! He even got to play with my personal dogs in my yard for a bit to let his energy drain before we left for The Collection! Afterwards, Chips and I went to The Collection in Oxnard and worked on finalizing everything he has learned! He did overall pretty good but since it was a bit hot out later in the day, Chips got tired pretty quickly. So we went home after our session and gave Chips a breather before getting to play in the yard with my dogs again!

Chips and I mostly relaxed day with 2 large training sessions. We started the morning with our routine structured walk around the neighborhood and practiced putting all of his commands together! He did very well and was energetic and playful! When we got home from our walk, I let Chips spend some time playing in my yard with my personal dogs! Once he drained his puppy energy, we relaxed a bit before heading to the outdoor mall to have another session! At the mall, Chips did fairly well but did get tired quickly due to the slight heat. So we kept the session short and ended on a good note!

Today Chips and I had a pretty relaxed last day because he has worked so hard the past few weeks! We took a lot of walks to the park before it got to hot! During our walks, we focused on Heel, Down, Come, Place, and Down! He was very excited and super energetic during our walks! Once the temperature got hotter, Chips and I spent some time working on Food Manners and Door Manners and stayed indoors. Later in the evening, Chips and I worked on his Duration Down around my personal dogs! He did very well and only slipped up one time because he got confused and thought I released him. He canāt wait to show you what he has learned!
