Meet Charlie! She is an 8 month old Goldendoodle from Los Angeles, CA. She is joining us for our Two Week Board and Train Program! Charlie has a tendency to bark at people and other dogs passing by, pulls heavily on leash, eats things off the ground and jumps up when greeting new people. She has her basics down such as sit and down but gets distracted easily! She is such a sweet and loving girl and I know she’s going to do amazing these next two weeks! Stay tuned for Charlie’s 14 day transformation!

Charlie is doing amazing her first day! After pick up I got her settled into her new environment. I let her sniff around and get used to all the new smells! We also conditioned Charlie to the e-collar today! She did amazing with that! I walked her around my neighborhood just to get her energy out and we practiced our ’Heel’ And a little bit of ‘come to sit’, I didn’t want to push her too much since it was only her first day. She was pulling a lot in the beginning but she quickly realized she wasn’t going to get far. She is so smart! She even ignored a biker! She enjoyed some play time and much needed relaxing time before she ate her dinner! I can’t wait for you all to see her transformation!

Today was a really big day for Charlie! We worked around a lot of dogs! At first she was barking and twisting in her leash but after a couple of minutes she seemed to calm down. Her loose leash walking has gotten a lot better and she seems a little more confident when I take her on walks. While filming today there were children playing and screaming, people working on cars and a couple dogs passed by. She did amazing, she would get distracted but I quickly refocused her. We worked on ‘down’ and ‘place’ this morning at a park in Cheviot Hills! She was having a little trouble staying in a down but she’s slowly getting there. She ate all of her dinner and went potty! We also went for a long walk to get some energy out and played a bit with her toys! She’s so smart and doing amazing!

Today Charlie did a lot of confidence building! We went to a park and started building her confidence on things she wasn’t sure of. The stairs on the play ground was a big issue for her. After a couple of tries she did amazing going up and down the steps. She also wasn’t sure about the slide since she kept slipping but after a couple tries she got the hang of it. Her heel is coming along really nice, she passed by a dog who was across the street without barking or trying to wiggle out of her leash! We also practiced down on a couple of small benches since she tries to roll on her side when I put her in a down. Charlie and I also went for a long walk and had a fun break running and playing at the park! She ate all her breakfast and dinner and is taking a much needed nap. She’s so sweet!

Today Charlie and I started our day with a long walk. We took a different route that had more distractions such as passing cars and bike riders! She was a little hesitate at first and started breathing a little hard due to her being nervous and anxious but she did amazing. After it cooled down a bit Charlie and I spent the remainder of the day at Little Lake Park where there was a lot of new scents and distractions. Charlie didn’t bark at anything today. She was even okay going near ducks. She did have a lot of anxiety but we worked through it together. We worked on her ‘heel’ and ‘come too sit’. She’s slowly getting there. Charlie did get spooked a bit by flying birds or even flying ducks but she soon relaxed and enjoyed laying under a tree. She also did amazing ignoring other people walking their dogs! Charlie ended her day playing and running at the park with me, she was so exhausted when we got home. She ate all of her dinner and went potty. She is so smart and is learning so much.

Charlie went to The Citadel Outlets today to work on her offleash heel and work around more distractions. She did amazing during her whole training session. She was a little bit curious about certain people and their bags but she stayed in a very nice heel. She did try to veer off a couple of times but quickly corrected herself. We passed by multiple dogs, some barking and some just staring, and she didn’t pay any attention to them. She was more interested in people. She had trouble with birds in the past especially when they would fly above her so we sat down for some lunch where there was a lot of birds flying by her, eating off the ground and just making a lot of chirping noises. She was a little overwhelmed at first but soon she relaxed. There was people walking back and forth and scraping chairs but she ignored them and stayed in place. I was really impressed with her today especially since we went a little past her comfort zone. She enjoyed a nice dinner and some play time before she took some much needed relax time.

Charlie had a very exciting day today exploring Santa Monica Pier. There was a lot of distractions she wasn’t used to. At first she was a little spooked but over time she started getting used to all the noise. There was a lot of birds there and she did get distracted a bit by the birds but we worked through it. Charlie also worked more on her offleash which still needs a bit of work since was was veering off or getting distracted. We’re going to be going to higher distraction areas to work her through having a tighter heel and not getting distracted as easily. Over all Charlie is doing amazing. She doesn’t bark at other dogs and can easily ignore them. She ate all of her food and went potty!
