Brixton and I spend the day getting to know each other! We worked on getting him used to the e-collar and getting more comfortable with his new environment. We introduced ‘heel’ today but he still wanted to run ahead of me and pull me. It did take him a bit to get the hang of it. We also introduced ‘come to sit’. He caught on pretty quickly and was able to come around me and sit on my left side. He is such a good boy. He adjusted quickly to the kennel at home and took a long nap before dinner. Overall, Brixton was such a good boy today!

Brixton worked on his ‘heel’ and ‘come to sit’ command today at Wilderness Park. He was a little overwhelmed with all of the ducks, people and dogs. At times he would try and rush toward the ducks or jump up at people when we passed them. He is really anxious when out in public and even went potty in the kennel in the car. After working on his ‘heel’ he seemed to be doing a lot better but would try and lay down if he didn’t want to walk anymore. He did try to bark at a couple of children today. Before he could fully bark, I pulled his attention away from them. We introduced ‘place’ today as well. He would have trouble going up steps no matter how short they were. He would resist and pull back on the leash. After doing it a couple of times he gained a bit more confidence and was fine. He does lack a lot of confidence and is really timid when it comes to doing new things. Overall, Brixton is doing great and is slowly getting the hang of everything!

Brixton went to El Dorado Park today where we worked on his ‘heel’ around distractions. We introduced his ‘sit’ and ‘down’ with durations. He did try to get up a couple of times but slowly got the hang of it. He’s still very anxious around people and dogs. We walked down a path with lots of people playing with their frisbees and he was pulling a bit to get to them. He did really well when we passed a couple of dogs, he didn’t bark or try to go up to them. He just stared at them very intensely. He is doing a lot better with all of his commands such as ‘come to sit’ but he still needs to work on his ‘place’. Any time he gets on an object that’s higher than the ground he thinks he’s going to fall off so he defaults to laying down. Brixton is being a very good boy and is slowly improving! He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and enjoyed his kong with peanut butter before bed!

Brixton went to Century City Mall to work on all of his commands. He did such a great job around other people and dogs but he was still really interested in them. He would stare at them as they passed. He did try to bark at children today even if they were walking by him or if they were playing with each other. He did really well with everything else overall! He did get up a couple of times from his ‘down’! We would just reset and try again. He was really timid and would get nervous and tried to walk over to me. After a couple of try's he did a lot better! He ended the night with a treat and some play time!

Brixton went to Wilderness Park where we were able to work around children and ducks. He’s still very unsure about the children and got a bit uncomfortable around them. He didn’t bark at them today but did stare at them as we passed. We worked on his durations around the ducks and he did a great job. He did get up a couple of times but after he relaxed he did a great job. He got a bit nervous when we walked by a big crowd of people who were riding their bikes. He tried to hide behind me and stared at them intently. Brixton is getting a lot better with ‘place’ and has gained a lot more confidence. He tries to jump in my car but always second guesses himself once we’re in front of it. He doesn’t like to jump on things that are too high up. Brixton ended the night with a treat and he ate all of his breakfast and dinner! He is such a good boy!

Brixton went to The Americana at Brand where he worked on all of his commands. He is still really timid and needed more time to get used to the environment. It was a little too much for him at times and he would try to walk back to me. He didn’t bark at any children today even if they ran passed him or if they were playing at a distance. He did a great job overall! He enjoyed a treat before bed and ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Brixton worked on all of his commands today at Hollywood Blvd! He did such a great job with all of the distractions but got a little overwhelmed with the amount of people that were there. He did a great job ignoring other dogs and children today. He did struggle going on ‘place’ since he doesn’t like anything elevated. After a couple of tries he seemed to get better at it. Overall, he did such a great job. He ate all of his breakfast and dinner.

Brixton worked on all of his commands at a local park today. He was able to run around the park and play with me for a bit! We worked on having him be less timid around loud noises like baseball bats and basketballs. He did relax and just wanted to lay in the grass staring at everyone! He is such a good boy! He ate all of his breakfast and dinner and enjoyed a treat before bed.
