Blue, a Dalmatian from Studio City, CA went through the Balanced Canine Training SoCal Board & Train dog training program. Blue was trained by dog trainer Amanda Lascari in La Habra Heights, Ca.
Blue, a 1 year old Dalmatian, has joined OffLeash SoCal for our 3 week board and train program. Blue is a sweet and loving girl with lots of energy. Some of the issues Blue’s owner is having with her is the lack of following commands, being easily distracted, pulling on the leash, leash reactivity, jumping to greet, begging, etc. Over the next 3 weeks Blue will be working on her off leash obedience and manners. Today I introduced and conditioned Blue to the ecollar. Once she got used to it, we started practicing commands come, sit, and place.

Today Blue and I worked on commands around the neighborhood. We practiced come to sit and place. We started working on the down command as well as a loose leash heel. the heel is coming along well, she walks right by my side. She tries to pull ahead every once in awhile, but once I correct her blue comes right back to my side. Blue is doing a great job with her training.

Blue's first day starting to work off leash! She is doing a great job with her training!
Today blue and I worked on all her commands off leash. We just need to work more on her duration (staying in command), but she is doing great! Today she joined my pack during feeding. I like to do this so Blue learns that she must sit and be patient while I prepare her meal, as well as learning that she must while the other dogs are being fed. She's not allowed to go up to the other dog's bowls while they are eating, once she is done eating she must walk away and give space to the ones eating. She learns that the food belongs to me, not her, and she must look to me until I give her permission to eat the food. This helps with teaching a dog not to begging and stealing food.

Unfortunately we had to stay indoors today because of the rain. Blue practiced all her obedience commands. She had some fun running around and playing in the rain with her buddies.

today Blue and I went to the park to work on her off leash obedience. Blue checked out the ice from the all the hail we had yesterday. Today Blue learned a new command, Under.

Today I took Blue shopping with me at the Block at Orange. She worked on all her off leash commands. Everyone loved her and couldn’t help but watch her do her training.
